Looks like they haven't change the Comm. rate for Audacity except for the lower ranks, not sure how I like this. Should be interesting to try out the new skills.
Yet, another 7 more ranks of Audacity.
Looks like they did away with the PVE aspect, making it like a "Capturing the flag" deal on keeps and outpost etc?
Like that they lowered the skill and trait comm. cost.
Looks very interesting, at least sounds good in writing.
Sounds like they will be promoting more small group play instead of zergs, or at least more strategy.
"Hey you 4 and you 4 go take outposts so-and-so and so-and-so while we put pressure on keep."
and actually have capturing outposts worth it.
Like that it won't be the "well I've captured all the keeps and outposts already once today, time to farm tree's" lulz.
The downside is with all these 'waypoints' and 'backdoors' and such, their will be a ton of running around map. Hopefully for the sake of actual combat and not just to avoid a fight and be annoying.
yeah, I am still trying to absorb all of it. There's a lot in that post.
I like that they recognize that creeps cannot put out the same damage or healing. It will be interesting to see how good of a job they do with correcting this in the Rohan update.
I like that creeps will be getting incoming healing rating spread across rank related battlefield promotions, so higher rank will also mean better heals for your creeps.
I don't like that we will have to grind out another 7 ranks of audacity just to get back to where we are right now with audacity at another 6,000 comms per aud rank. They have removed a lot of quests and a lot of comms rewards from quests, so it will be interesting to see how hard it is to max out your audacity on one character let alone all of them.
I LOVE that they are finally taking a suggestion I have been making for years regarding the outposts and removing their access control over the delving. The new delving is going to be interesting with all the ways it can be used and its effect / buffs associated with killing those 3 bosses.
I'm not sure how to feel about the rez circles and OC and EC locations being moved. I know I am sad that Candy mountain will now be a rez circle, lol. That just seems really strange to me.
I like that they are going to change the trait system for creeps and I look forward to seeing how that works out, it looks good on paper.
Not sure how to feel about the removal of flags required to capture a keep. Some of the fun battles were after a keep's tyrant or cg was dead and an enemy force just arrived and a battle ensued for the capture. It will be interesting to see how the keep flips work in practice vs paper now.
Movement around the map will be quite interesting now with the Delving used as a tunnel network for access. The new access to the keeps via new rooms in each of them to go to the quest/flag room, very interesting, can't wait to see how those changes play out.
Tweaked locations of Outposts, bridges added, etc. Interesting.
TA isle shoreline changed, bridges flip based on keep control now, no longer separate from TA's ownership.
New special legendary PVP weapons for freeps rank 10+. May have to rank the guardian one more rank now so he can get a fancy new axe.
So much in this dev blog to chew on, I think this update will definitely shake things up quite a bit. Hopefully for the better.
Yeah, I'm unsure about this. I'm not quite grasping at it yet.
I'm just shocked, not really happy or thrilled about grinding another 7 ranks of Audacity, I'm just "meh" about it. Seems like a huge mixed bag of marbles with the new PvMP for RoR. :\
Not looking forward to another grinding of 7 more ranks of Audacity. This might be my last stand!
I don't see it as big of a deal to get audacity since you are going to be getting double the comms per kill. Also you get a bunch of bonuses now for doing certain things (i.e. each keep controlled gives you a 20% boost) which will make getting them even faster. Not to mentioned other things like skills have had the ammount of comms required lowered.

True, but maybe I less skeptical when I read the post than I was actually getting burnt out on the grinding of it prevously when I came back to the Creepside.
Yeah, part of me says "It looks great" and another part of me says "Just another thing to grind for..." Mixed feelings lol.
I think I rather spend the money on something with less grindy and with more options like GW2 has; BALANCED PvP, World v World v World, and PvE along with Dynamic Events..
I'll wait until July 23rd (which is when I usually get my 500 TPs) to go ahead and drop my sub from VIP to Premium and buy the Warg class. I'm still not sure if I have to purchase RoR to actually get the PvMP stuff, but I'm assuming yes I do have too?

These changes are coming with Rohan but my understanding is that you won't have to pay for the expansion to see the changes.
I love that they are taking commendations away from a lot of the quests. Making it more profitable to flip keeps than actually fighting only made the state of the moors worse.
I know a lot of people were wanting a new map, but I think that these changes (at least on paper) will have a better impact on the moors than a new map that would come with its own bag of exploits and broken stuff. The creep balancing is very intriguing as long as everyone stays open minded and doesn't freak out while they get the balance right. When freeps start going out when they hit 85, it is probably going to be weighted in favor of creeps, but dps/healing needs to be balanced off of freeps once they get all the shiny raid gear and second and first age weapons.
The changes definitely have the potential to promote more strategic fighting and hopefully some good small group fights. I wouldn't mind seeing a timer being put into place for the major keeps that sends out an announcement that TA, for example, is being taken, the opposing side then has five minutes to get to the keep and stop it from being taken, there would have to be some type of flag mechanic put back into place though. I think it could result in some pretty good battles, instead of just flipping and running/mapping.

Thanks for clarifying that, I will be un-subbing at the end of this month and going Premium and purchasing my Warg class with my 500 TP.
I really didn't want a new map, lol, I know alot of people did though. I just want some kind of balance when the Minis/Champs/Wardens and (RKs?) come into the 'moors. Which wasn't even mentioned in the post.
Little tweaks to the warg class, didn't really do much from what was said in the post, but I guess he's trying to make the wargs like Burglars on the HiPs CDs? But personally, I don't think wargs need that much tweaking since I think they are fine.
Little bit of PvE in PvP world, doable, better than what it was before, most definitely so! If I can see the changes without actually buying the content (since I'm really burnt on the freepside and even burnt on grinding for Audacity), I might consider my opinions and play once in a while.

Why do you need an announcement that a keep is being taken? With these changes there will be a Tennis in every keep at all times when it's freep controlled!
We think that the Blackarrow and Warg Stalker are in a good place damage-wise, so the majority of our attention went to the Defiler, Weaver, Reaver, and Warleader. These classes have received a significant damage boost to their skills and damaging effects, making them more viable from a damage-dealing standpoint. We’ve also made more damage available via corruptions by increasing the potency of the Mastery corruptions.

hey! you need to calm down plz
Turbine asked Tennis if this changes were ok and the King of Kings moved his thumbs up

Well at least creeps will have the same advantage that way . I've seen the same mechanic in other 100% PvP games, not sure if it would work in a game like LOTRO, since there are huge swings in numbers on one side or the other, and most of the time PvP is more about playing tag or hide and seek and less about actually fighting each other.

I have not played enough in the Moors through the years to be bored with how things are now but a lot of these new changes sound interesting. However there are a few things that I wonder about. Firstly creeps should not have to buy their skills using commendations, like freeps they should be purchasable by coin. I don't mind audacity, but if I am correct for it to make any difference I will have to earn seven more levels which is bleh. Mostly though and I am not sure about this, is the fact that with all this keep and relic taking will this not mean that people who solo and small groups won't have much of a place anymore? That this means raid or die? Also I rather enjoy the OC/EC fights and will miss those!

I like the idea too. A lot like the Battlefield series, one guy next to a flag and it slowly flips to your side, 6 guys and it flips much faster, at any rate it shows neutral on the minimap for a period of time so the other team has a chance to get there and do something about it, in other words, start a flip, set up your defense because the enemy is inbound. Would make for some excellent fights. Like Morkel said, some of the best fights have been in the flag rooms as one group tries to prevent another from flipping the flag.
Most of the changes sound good, heck, the moors have been ignored for so long that any changes will be received as positive.

Why?. Tennis already does this lolz. Also the fact of each keep give certain bonus will be just one more reason for freeps come here just for pve. Same for creeps. I just dont Agree with that
I find it curious that the day after I suggest to Drakgor on these forums that we set up our own "domination" and "king of the hill" games, that Turbine implements those as part of the Moors with Rohan.
I have fixed the Moors. You are all welcome.

So CM is gonna be a Rez spot... No more 1v1s up there.... I like the idea of 'tunnels'. sounds like a sort of fast travel. Maybe they can throw a tunnel into an instanced 'cage match' (that would be for you Dirty) maybe make it selectable for 1/3/6 man/Orc/Uruk/beastie. I have high hopes. I wonder if they are gonna bring creep damage up to par with freeps, that seems like what they are saying, thoughts? Does this mean morale will drop to be equal as well? So many things could happen when they 'rock the boat'
So there are like 5 threads I could post this is, but I think it should go here..
First of all, how this will affect my gameplay. I play mostly solo. These changes are going to KILL 1v1s and soloers. -1 for me
Second, how this is going to affect Silverlode's PvP. The domination style PvP is going to make it impossible for creeps to do much at all. Freeps will ALWAYS have the buffs from keeps and OPs and there wont even be any switching sides, since taking the keeps themselves dont give you anything. So the freeps will stay on freepside with a blue map and a 300% gain in renown and infamy from camping a few greenies. If you think it will be any other way, well, have fun out there I guess.
Third, how this will affect the game as a whole. I do think that it is a step, not a leap, but a small step in the right direction. This wont even come close to fixing the PvP issues, but at least it is something more than a bird and a tree.
I hope that you all on Silverlode can try to make the best of this new update. There have been a lot of solid moors players and vets who have left or are leaving currently. Unfortunately, I will have to add another to the count. As someone said in the dev diary response thread, "Too little, too late". I have already pre-ordered GW2, and I haven't pre-ordered the expansion for LOTRO. Maybe it won't be the solution to everything, and maybe I will come back, no promises, no deleting. But I guess this is goodbye. I have had fun here and met some fun people, but I cant say I like the direction that this game is headed in.
Good luck with your mounted combat! I suspect thats probly the only thing that you will really be getting with this expansion, and I highly doubt it will live up to expectations.

Yeah, I second that, I just got finished playing GW2 BWE3 last night from a weekend of playing, only thing I can say is "WOW, it' is really awesome!" After couple minutes of just PvEing to get used to the skills, I went right into PvP, since there weren't any real even fights, it seemed just alot of battles going on without taking posts for points.. I have to say, PvP is really awesome there!
Now I just gotta wait it out till release and finish my jouney in LOTRO.
Does that skill work in pvp? It would be totally worth rolling a burg to sneak up to you and make you turn around...
It only works on NPCs, not players. I'm sure you probably would roll a burg. Seems like that's not the fad anymore, seems like minis, champs and wardens are the new fad as well as the FOTM.

Looking back now... I don't know why 3/4 of my 75's are light armour. I should have thought about that beforehand, poor planning on my part Either way, it's snack time for you guys when I bring them out

Oh noes Kaz as one of the vets of silverlode I have say that this update is just how you say it'll be, to me it looks like a big letdown like MoM was. A lot of people I played with in SoA are leaving/already left, I'm just sticking around so see what they plan on really doing with this game seeing as I'm sure that this won't be their last update *duh*. But thanks for playing with us noobs Kaz <3 have fun in GW2~
