Thread: Please make all gaits available to all steeds, not just the War-steeds!

I read in an interview about RoR that the War-steeds will have more than your walk/run choices currently available to our regular mounts. Walk, trot, canter and gallop are what they are working on according to the article. Now I understand that not all ideas make it to launch, but please, for the love of realism and RP, could these gaits be made available to regular mounts as well, not just War-steeds?

Given the fact that you won't be using those mounts
in combat, it won't be necessary to tactically adjust
the speeds. Most will be riding in max speed all the time
I for one are happy with the 3 speeds the horses have at this time...

(that's standing still, walking and running, just like on foot)

I guess this is the more convenient thing for Turbine (and for all of us):

If you have a (not War Steed), post-RoR, you will no longer want to ride that steed. Instead, the (not War Steed)'s skin (and barding, harness, whatever) will be unlocked for your War Steed.

This will prevent your long grinded-for mounts or TP mounts from becoming obsolete, as well as allowing us to customize our War Steeds better (Imagine having a Minas Ithil steed without a flag, which will be your War Steed ).

I think the different types of movement would be kind of cool to be able to use for all steeds. I also was wondering if there's only combat on the war-steeds. If not, what about the people who aren't allowed to pre-order, like restricted from their guardian/parent. That seems like a bit of leaving certain people out. I know first-hand.

I am not sure you will have speed control of your war mount outside of RoR. I have not seen that stated anywhere. All I have seen is that you will be able to ride your war mount in all zones, but ONLY in RoR will there be mounted combat.

I read that as when I am riding my war mount in LL, I will be at the base speed they have set for it. Maybe it will be a 170% mount, but I doubt you will be hitting the W button all the time as that is a combat skill.

But that is my guess. We will find out for sure in about 6 weeks.

You'll get warsteeds whether you pre-order or not.....but those who havent bought Riders of Rohan will only get one skill tree unlocked and will have to unlock the rest with tp like we do on trait slots.....those who have bought RoR will get all trait lines unlocked.....

I tend to agree. War Steeds are clearly faster when involved in Mounted Combat. Even though they're giving us cosmetic crossovers between existing mounts and war steeds, having the higher speed available in other areas would make all other steeds redundant.
