Lag while using XFire to record

I normally play Lotro on high graphics and it doesn't lag. Recently I tried to record my game play with XFire. However, when it started to record, the lag was terrible. I could hardly move, and it took a while to bring up the menu to exit the game. Thinking it's graphics related, I switched the graphic settings to low. Then I began to record it again. Guess what? Same lag. Is there a way to fix it?

Maybe it was a lag, not a low FPS number? What's your speed?

if you only have this lag when recording with xfire then we can safely say its an issue with your pc and xfire, your system specs probably are a little on the low side, try using something else to record ingame

if this lag happens without xfire then the issue is with the game and your pc

I find it weird that I can play Lotro on high graphics without lag. Add XFire in the mix and it's unplayable. The reason I want to use XFire is because I use it on another computer and I already recorded game play for other games.

    Try using Fraps:
    http://www.fraps.com/
Fraps is a low resource real time video capture software with a lot of options. The options are very useful if you are having performance issues because your PC isn't up to running both a visually intensive application like Lotro and a capture program.

The performance issues depend on which two applications you are running together:
    1) Your choice of game or other application
    2) Your choice of video capture software.

Lotro likes to use all the resources your PC has. You might be able to get Xfire to work as video capture if you change the Lotro engine settings - Not the visual settings.

Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is My Personal Opinion.
