Thread: Row Boat Mount

    Row Boat Mount

    A mount skill which can be crafted or given as a quest reward which lets you summon a canoe. Most useful in Evendim.

    EDIT: Must be able to fish from it. Also, yes it's a collapsible canoe made from hides and strong sticks as support structure.

    EDIT2: A slight speed boost would also be nice.

    EDIT3: Perhaps a hollowed out turtle shell could be a special mount.

    is this the super dooper deluxe origami model that folds flat and fits inside your backpack when not in use?

    That'd be incredibly useful, and kinda fun. Even if it had a cooldown or something, I'd still be all for it.

    How about a coracle?

    But I don't think it's likely to be added any time soon. There's a swift-travel boat across Lake Evendim (just click and port), and another across Anduin between Lorien and Southern Mirkwood. Before the latter was opened, people trying to swim across Anduin got shot dead by Orcs, and I've been told that is still the case.

    So at this point we either don't need boats or already have them in the form of swift travel.

    Perhaps there would be little use for them...
    But I will still sign for this.
    If you could fish from it, I'd love it also.
    Give a little different angle to scenery than just lakeside or riverside, or if you just get bored of standing around. lol

    I too like the idea however i doubt is actually doable in game they dont really have any serious Z axis management in the game and adding floating objects probably arent possible.

    I too like the idea however i doubt is actually doable in game they dont really have any serious Z axis management in the game and adding floating objects probably arent possible.

    Wouldn't you just replace the swimming animation with you in a boat rowing and allow you to fish in the water?

    We're talking about a boat, not a submarine. There's no z-axis needed. It would stay on the surface of the water. Just provide an option to replace the swimming animation with a rowing a boat animation. I'd like one, especially if we can fish while sitting in our boat.

    A group of players managed to force a crossing of the Anduin in spite of Orc resistance. Turbine's solution to the "That did not work the way we expected. What Now?" is a strip of insta death water. The Orcs were reassigned to other activities.
