I have 4 characters; toons are those things that used to be on Saturday morning. I've always thought calling video game characters toons was like calling a rap artiest a saxophonist.
I'll go out of my way to say "characters" instead of "toons" which only makes sense for cartoons
Anyway, I'm not playing lottery anymore, looks like it actually IS broken, I've entered the Bastille day lottery like 10 times and it's still up on the widget for me to enter again. Is it only for people in France?
This seems bonkers - who on earth would level up multiple charactors for some low end stuff ?
Virtually everything in the lottery can be gained through play or for a few tp - sure the worn elder takes time to get but less time than levelling up charactors .
I have 12 charactors and my wife has 3 and she wins way more times than I do - but thats how random events work.
meh. if i win, i win. if i don't, then no big deal. i just wish that what i do win is at least somewhat beneficial to my toons, not just goofy fluff like fireworks or free people's flags.
Ok, I admit. I'm guilty of this vulgar crime. I did level my RK alt specificly so it could enter the SotEK lottery I knew would be held two weeks later. And guess what? All my four end level characters won...

I actually did base some leveling of alts on the lottery. I made two alts and leveled both to 16. Now I'm working on getting one to 31, then I will level the other to 31. The lottety just gave me good stopping points to switch between them. If I spent all that time just for the weak lottery prizes, then I sure earned them though. I don't see why that would be a problem. It would take someone a lot of hours to level a bunch of characters high enough to get good lotto prizes.
Really I'm leveling them so that I will have a selection of characters for end game, rather than just my hunter.
^It's not even that. They level up the character, sure, but then they just get back on their favorite characters and only logon to the others for a second so they can abuse the lotto system.
It leaves other people with few characters almost no chance to win.
Thats not abusing.

I have 4 charakters from Lvl 15 - 50. I log on with all the charakters all the time. I can only play one charakter at the same time, but I check in with all 4 charakters when there is a new Lottery online. What is the Problem. Why dont you get a third Charakter and level him or her to Lvl 15 or beyound?
Not if there was anithing on the lottery that you would need to have ingame succes.
Then people would soon call lotro "lottery to win".

I win lotteries fairly regularly, but there are times that I don't. Check the screen. Towards the bottom there's almost a one month period I didn't win.

What lottery bracket are you complaining about exactly?
I know from my 9/10 characters I rarely win in the 71-75 bracket with the two that are able to enter those but that doesnt surprise me as the majority of a games population will be clumped at either end of the level scale. Especially at this stage of an expansion. As for the rest they do win more and also seem to have the wins spread so again that doesnt surprise me as the population of entrants will be lower.
OK I dont know exact numbers but a bit of applied common sense coupled with basic maths and stats thinking backs me up.
At the end of the day it's a free lottery and is a nice thing to get, specially for the eu players who are still fairly new to the system. Yes it's nice to win stuff but I'm cycnical enough to know my chances of getting anything really sexy on the character I want it for are slim at best. For example my hunter recently won a champs steed whereas I was really hoping it to have gone to my champ.
Bind on account for lottery wins would be very very good to see for altoholics and better variation in time for flash lotto's would be the only tweaks I'd like to see.
The lottery systems definitely abused by people who created like 100 toons, for the specific purpose of having better chances to win.
I haven't won a single lottery in 4 months and enter pretty much every day. It's only cause I have 2 toons. I'm giving up on the lottery until they make the entries account based and not character based. This is just hopeless unless you are one of the people abusing it!
I have 16 characters and they all participate in the lottery. I paid for my sub and I'm folowing Turbine's rules in the lottery.
One thing that I have to say though is that the lottery had nothing to do with me having so many alts, I'm just an alt-addict.

Thanks for the tip! Yesterday I bought 100 more slots for my server and levelled 100 more wardens (which, everyone knows, is fastest levelling class)
