FYI, LotRO also works quite well with Windows 8.

I don't think there's anything that works with Vista that doesn't work with Windows 7. 7 is essentially Vista without all the problems, they didn't change much.

Also, like the post above me said, seems to work pretty well with 8 as well. Haven't had any problems yet.

If I would rephrase your friends' sentence, they were supposed to say 'It doesn't say it supports Windows 7 on the box'. The only LOTRO Expansion Box (Mines of Moria) was released BEFORE Windows 7.

Also it would not work with operating systems older than Windows XP.

I am running LOTRO on Windows 7 64-bit and I am having absolutely no problems.

Actually LotRO runs well on Win2k which was released about a year before WinXP. I didn't upgrade to XP until around 2005.

It works perfectly fine with Windows 7. In fact, I started with LOTRO on windows vista and I have just recently switched to 7 and it works ten times better.

I use my Win7 laptop for the game BUT I had a problem to start off with. When you go to make a new character it was just a black screen and no character and wouldn't let me continue.
Apparently, this is common with Win7. Instead of your graphics being DirectX 10, change it to 9 and it should work perfectly!

    Amy.
this isnt a problem with w7, more likely your using a laptop which has intel graphics, which lotro does not support, and\or graphics drivers which are old. the problem is usually fixed by switching to dx9 and can sometimes be resolved by installing the latest graphics drivers

    Hm, true story bro.
It's still annoying I don't know why I didn't change the settings before I installed and uninstalled the game which caused my STEAM to freeze.

    Fecking technology.
