Question Trying to sell tools, but where are they?

    Hey all

I don't have any more room in either of my 3 bags. So I'm trying to sell what's not needed by me. But everytime I try to sell my tools (farming, woodcutting etc.) I can only find the best axe of two (one on 30 and one on 45 durability). Is there a way to sell them or throw them away?? Can I sell my best tools and get new ones from the mistress master? I hope you understand my issue. If not, I'll try and explain it again differently.

Some items in the game can't be sold to a vendor. Sometimes their tooltips will still even have prices on them, but they can't be sold.

To get rid of these items, you can drag them from your bags to a blank spot on the game world. You'll then be asked whether you want to destroy that item. This is your only chance to say no, so be careful.

Also there are only 3 types of tools in the game

Inferior and Basic are 2 of the only ones that are sold at the Craft NPC's

The other sets are Crafted by Metalsmiths

There is also the tools that are sold in the Store for TP

Do you have any of them locked or equipped? If an item is equipped, it won't show in the vendor window, nor will a locked item unless you check the Show Locked up in the left corner of the vendor window (or uncheck the box in the Options panel).

Also, a Tool purchased from the store or one won in the Lottery cannot be sold (there is no price shown at the bottom).

Why do you have 2 axes? You only need one of each type of tool for your craft, then when it gets worn you can see a vendor like a supplier and click on the repair tab to repair your items. You may have to equip it to get it repaired if you have the option to "repair only equipped items" ticked in your option panel.

The free Inferior tools you got when choosing your vocation can't be sold, only thrown away. At just 2 silver each for the basic version of real tools, you're better off spending that just for the vastly increased durability.

You should only save (and repair!) your ''best'' quality tool. You should never, NEVER repair your ''inferior'' tools. Sell/throw away the lesser versions, keep only the best.

on the off chance you have run into this odd problem. (I did when my sister overloaded my mailbox once)

If every single slot in your bags is full you might run into a problem selling anything.

I ran into it at a time when my bags AND my bank were full and it wouldn't let me put anything on auction until I emptied one space in my bags. :P yeah I just ate that last cabbage roll and all was good. It might behave the same way for vendoring things.

    Mirarian - it's not.

When you put something on the Auction House, you will either get the selling price in the mail (if the item sells), or you get the item itself back in the mail (if it doesn't). So the designers don't let you put anything on the AH if your mailbox is currently full.

The above problem is that items that have no selling price (items that are ''worthless'' to vendors) don't show up in the selection of items to "Sell" to a vendor. The freebie "inferior (Craft) tools" fall into this category, among a few others.
