What music do you listen to in the Ettenmoors?

Serious thread. Just interested to see what some of you E folk listen to when you're out solo/not in ts3, and/or you can afford the luxury of listening to some tunes while you go about your business...

I mostly listen to music from the common practice period (so in other words, "classical" but also Baroque, Romantic, Impressionistic etc), stuff like this...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nq9I...eature=related
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ClDFmFmr0k
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_JvCKBRpFA
    Also the odd film soundtrack...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZst_2xJHAI (this is epic)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqiiHZWXSCA
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESnMzQZubKg

    And this
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu0WX...eature=related
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsXEbqS7cpE (still rolling, man)

05/11/12: And everything else really. Everything from Marvin Gaye to Aesop Rock to whatever I feel like at the time. Fusion, prog, blues, soul... Flip-Hop.

Anyways, post what you listen to, if anything... Cheers

too much to post everything- it would turn into a massive wall of text.

Sometimes I'll listen to audiobooks- usually the Wheel of Time series or one of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars novels.

For music- movie soundtracks- star wars, LOTR, Pirates of the Caribbean

Led Zeplin, The Talking Heads, Offspring, Warren Zevon, Hank 2 and 3, Guy Clark when crafting or just quiet.

Good taste, do you have a favorite composer? Rachmaninovs preludes were probably my favorite thing that I've listened to so far. Unfortunately it seems you're only able to play them if you're a hamfisted freak lol.

Ahhh... To tell you the truth not really, just when I think I've finally decided on Rach I'll listen to some Brahms or Mahler or Scriabin, Wagner, what have you, and welcome the change in style. At times I prefer the simplicity of Satie, simply wandering around listening to his Gymnopedies. It's quite fascinating, really. Especially in the Moors. Sometimes listening to soft calm music while engaged in an intense fight actually works out better for me.

It's also fascinating to see what some of you listen to though... I will endeavour to listen to "Call Me Maybe" next time I'm out, Fuzzie. The girl's cute

Yeah I avoided the middle part of the series. I only have the first three and the last two on there. One thing that is kinda of neat about them is the people reading them switch off. Redding reads stuff from the women's point of view and the guy from the guys. It seems like a lot of fantasy series start to drag around the fourth book or at least just get stale.

The Thrawn Trilogy is much more face paced but if you try it try the newer edition that just came out this year. I like it better than the earlier audio books read by Anthony Daniels (surprised me actually). Would have rather seen movies out of those than what lucas chose to provide.

Ode to Joy also makes for great music in this game. Sometimes though i actually like the in game music. sometimes.

Excellent taste. Any particular preludes? I have his Op. 23 and 32 (iirc) on CD, and of course the C# minor prelude he got sick of and started calling "that thing". But his 3rd concerto is my favourite composition of all time--which might not make me terribly original, but there it is.

C minor and G minor, but it's ok to love classics. For the same reason that Chopin is basically mainstream classical but I wouldn't fault anyone for enjoying it, because it enjoyable. His posthumous prelude being IMO his best, C# iirc.

Yeah. Both their solo records and the insane Cacophony leads are a true inspiration. Kinda more of a Marty fan l0l; his phrasing is second to none and, well, Rust In Peace is my fav album ever.

Loomis is a monster, and one of the few current shredders I can listen to for hours. His work with Nevermore was brilliant. Can't stand Cooley at all. Too much speed wankery and no melody.

Found my favourite track from Extraction as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnp7...eature=related
I just love the prominence of the keys (a bit biased as a pianist) and the acoustic guitar solo is insane. Such a smooth track

Not much into those guys. Tony Mcalpine would be the exception; he's so smooth! I do love me some flamenco and just about anything phrygian-oriented. I have Yngwie on burnout mode, l0l0l.
