At essentially $1.50 a minute (based on $50 turbine point package of 5,000 TP), I'm going to have to pass on trying it out unless one magically lands in my lap. No crafting is worth that cost; I have plenty of spare time or things to do around the house/on-line while crafting. I can make cheaper late night phone calls, if I was into that sort of thing! O_O
I am curious if it works on farming though! Or is it like the Crafting Experience Accelerator? I expect it is though, only working on crafting professions and not farmer, forester, or prospector.

Reason: Because I hit post before proofreading!

I agree. I usually surf the net while crafting, I won't mention the sites though as they are inappropriate for this forum
They don't work with farming. You get a few during the introductory crafting quests and I used them on my farmer. They didn't work though. They are only good for making the finished products (i.e. cook, metalsmith, jeweler, armourer, scholar, tailor, woodworker) not the components (farmer, prospector, forester).

There's a new accelerator in the store, not the same as the old one all characters get. This one reduces the time of crafting.
I understand why you feel the cost is silly but I disagree that the value is $1.50/minute because you're overlooking something: in addition to the time you save in crafting for skill xp, you also are saved the time of gathering the crafting materials -- and for many that's far more time then it takes to click "Make All" then afk for a while. Obvious exception to this is when mats can be bought on the AH (if you're willing to pay those ridiculous prices).

There are no ridiculous AH prices, as that's not money, that's in game graphics that are handed to you when you play. No cost associated with that at all.
The new crafting speed up doesn't save time gathering materials, it's not a riding speed boost, nor does it make nodes appear any faster.
All it does is what they say...

So I haven't checked the math, but the $1.50/minute wouldn't be a subjective opinion, but dividing out the cost.
(Edit, correction: it's NOT on sale after all, only the old accelerators are)

You are correct. I was mistakenly in the mindset that this improved skill points gained, not physical time waiting for crafting to happen. I thought the "time" was in minimizing the amount of crafting required for tier growth. My mistake -- and shame on Turbine for having the gall to directly provide a poor experience and then charge to mitigate their deliberate actions. Not very different from the mob charging "protection money" to prevent your things from breaking.
Yea I had a look at these, I won't be buying any because it takes very little to just be a bit organised but I suppose I can imagine some people wanting to quickly make tokens/food before a raid or something I guess. Overall though at a whopping 1 minute duration it seems way over priced but what do I know, apparently 1 dye is worth 35c? I forget but as I have nearly a stack of 50 of every colour whatever price in TP it is seems awful to me.
