    Oddball bug

I have no idea if this is an issue regarding the latest patch or what...

I seem to have issues connecting fully to the game. It lets me thru the launcher past the password input, and the "Next" button thereafter, but then it closes and tosses up the window, "lotroclient.exe stopped working and blah blah blah."

There's only one thing I've done different within the past week or two....and that is using Pandora online streaming radio or whatever. I have used this program in the past, and it never interefered with anything.

But, I can start my PC up, start up lotro, and play fine...
    or....
I can start my PC, get some tunes going, and try to open lotro, only to have it crash out....sometimes.

So yeah, I'd like to listen to some tunes while I play, but I cannot at this time. Anyone else having a similar issue involving this(Pandora) or any other media-type programs running in the background?

could be a patch gone wrong, it happened to me once. Ended up uninstalling lotro and starting with a fresh client, been good since (and load times were so much better too).

    Update:

Now it's just randomly crashing. Before, if I *had* started Pandora....a reboot would resolve the issue. Now, after a fresh restart, it does it without having opened any other programs.

You don't say if you have made any changes between your posts, if you have change them back. Also check to see if Pandora is starting a background process under services. If it has stop that process and see if that stops the crashes.

No other changes. After my last reply, I decided a fresh install was in order...which it is currently doing as I write this. One thing I did notice, after I unistalled and went to the website to re-download, there was no longer a 'HiRes' download option....just a standard(to which I also found a thread with a link to a program to rehash the standard back up to high res).
I am currently installing a hires version I downloaded on 6/14/12. If the issue still persists, then it must have something to do with the .dat files themselves....or so I'm guessing. Which, if so, then I'll have to try the standard download/rehash option.

Apparently....it never was the Pandora streaming radio that was interfering. It is somehow.....TeamSpeak. I usually have that running, and I toyed with it a little. after a few sessions of having TS connected & trying to connect to Lotro...to be followed by a crash. Followed by closing TS, and Lotro loading just fine.

    Still....an oddball bug.
1st time TS has ever interfered with anything.
