If you have a lag problem you should upgrade your internet service if possible. I live in Korea (about as far from the server as you can get) and I have only had lag 2-3 times in over a year because of the fast service. Turbine has no control over your bad connection.

I found a couple of settings from the forums that have helped me out significantly.

*Put your power plan on balanced ( does more than it says)
*Disable sync to monitor refresh rate (vsync) ( you will get tearing but you have a larger frame head room)
*If you must use vsync use tripple buffering too
*If you have a lot of ram max out the slider right above player crowd quality (forget what it's called but it causes the game to store more stuff in ram)
    * Lower the player crowd quality slider to minimum
    * some video cards will adjust in and out of vsync depending on when it is optimal to do so, enable it.

Here is a thread that helped me a lot

not just for you, but for all those leaving for GW2, can i have your stuff? would be a waste of good stuff if you just deleted or left it sitting idle on ur account. in game mail to Anoden.

I had similar issues... and it only seemed to effect LoTRO. However, over time, my PC shut itself down. After further troubleshooting, it was determined that it was either the PSU or the motherboard. Upon closer examination, a few capacitors had gone bad on the motherboard. Just another place to look if others fail.

even after trying all that nothing seems to be changing. i built this pc just before isen and before my xfer. and i cld pvp on gladden with 40v40 fights going on at keeps with no lag atall. then after isen and my xfer (expecially update 6) everything has gone downhill. sence then iv put in a second graphics card. fillled my other two ddr3 slots. got complete liquid cooling (so i could overclock more) and i do defrags and just clean out my pc in general on a weekly basis. and as far as torrents i do use another pos laptop all together for that. now half the time im pvping i have utube and the forums up at the same time, i also run with roughly 10 plugins that im sure slow things down. BUT iv noticed that while in vent and talking to other ppl pvping i generaly seem to lag only along with them, suggesting its server wide and has little/nothing to do with my computer

    Sorry to see you go.

I'm a lifer, so no sub deleting for me. But I am finding the lag increasingly irritating as well. Nothing so fun
as coming up to a battle, lagging out, and sitting there watching a frozen screen and wondering if you are dead while unable to fight back...

I hope they figure out the issues, whether server, client, connectivity, combination, whatever.
