I needed some advice on getting aggro at the beginning of fights; mainly large trash pulls and such. A good example that comes to mind is the orcs in Roots of Fangorn. As I run in and begin my sequence for EoB, enemies start running everywhere (and if it's T2, atleast one kinmate dead) before I can fire it off. Even then, atleast one or two have run off out of my EoB range, and everyone else has to kill those first. This is very frustrating and I figure there is something I can do different.
On single enemies or bosses I'm pretty good; don't have issues there.

Battle-Prep Shield Tactics out of combat after you use Shield Mastery and 2x DoW. Then Battle-Prep Exultation of Battle but don't fire it off until you're within range to grab the Orcs plus at least one Shaman (groups I run with like to Bard's Arrow/mes the other two). You'll want either a champion to AoE and pick up aggro when you're stunned, or an LM to keep SoP:R up on yourself.
If you're to pick up all the mobs Goad right after the initial EoB, build up EoB via masteries as you run to the bridge and grab the other two shamans with EoB x2.

The worm population was on a steep decline in Moria with no explanation.
Orcs claim a crazy hobbit, some elf, a captain and one crazy @#$ warden were responsible but no witnesses can confirm it

From what you wrote it looks like the problem is due to speed. As soon as you enter combat the mobs should not be running everywhere but to you as you are the closest target. How quick does it take you to build EOB because you must be doing it very slow for someone to die before you can activate the gambit. At the start of any fight you want to establish aggro fast and preferable before any mob hits you. I recommend you either start with WC or BP EOB. Starting a fight with EOB using masteries is not being efficient
1. Battle Prep: SM, DoW, ST (out of combat)
2. Battle Prep: EoB (do not use yet)
3. Javenlin of Deadly Force (for the pull). This gives burst AoE threat generation at the on set.
4. pop EoB (from Battle Prep) as the mobs run towards you, but make sure to run to the ranged mobs to pop it (carrying the melee ones with you.
Once you have done these 10 steps the mobs are yours, you can mix in self heals, buffs, convictions etc. after this as long as after every buff sequence is completed; you do either steps 5-7 or 8-10 (I alternate) before the next upkeep time arrives.
Indeed it is speed; I would run in and start fist, spear... By the time I finish it and activate it atleast 4 or 5 secs have gone by. Gets worse if I have to chase mobs to finish the gambit.
Didn't know you could battle prep offensive gambits; I thought it was just heals and buffs. Tried that out and it definitely helped.

Even without battle prep you can build EoB at range with no chasing using masteries: [31][23][21] or [31][23][22]
Much faster than one builder at a time and should at least lock SOMETHING on you long enough to manually build gambits on afterward.

Just making sure...from this post it almost seems like you are not using masteries. You know about masteries right?
Curiously, the evolution of the internet seems inversely proportional to the evolution of man.
If you run in first, the mobs should aggro on you, but your hold is very tenuous. If anyone has any HoTs up, they will generate threat and mobs will run at them until you pull aggro. If that's a problem, ask people to hold off on any heals.
Especially on T2 RoF, you will get stunned (knocked down?). When this happens, mobs will attack someone else because you are temporarily off the threat table. If this is a problem, try to use your gambit that provide stun immunity (even though you can't keep it up 100% of the time), and/or bring a Lore-Master and task him with keeping stun immunity up on you and the healer.
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won
Yes but I rarely use them outside of double fist, etc. Guess its time to start learning them and using them.
Problem. Just to give you an idea I get 3 eobs of in the first 2-3 seconds of the fight using battle-pre masteries and battle memory. Now compare that to how many you get off and what tools you're not using.
