Thread: why i hate the task system

items only say they can be turned in for tasks, but not where they need to be turned in.
i'm constantly coming to task bulletin boards with stacks of items that cant be turned in there even though i gathered them questing in the area.
and why would dev's think i want to fill up my limited quota of quests with task quests?
so because i don't, i have to search my bag to see if any of the myriad of task items i gathered match the list on the particular task board i'm at?
this system is just another example of wasted man hours, just like the umpteen heal pot icon revisions and the link to the store dummies posted thru-out middle earth. ( the 40 to 50 store links already saturated thru-out the UI isnt enough?.....)

You could always use a plugin and then only pick up the quests when you have the items to turn them in. Simple solution, keeps your inventory clear, and keeps your quest log open.

Install Busy Bee Tasks. It's great for knowing where to turn in things.

I use Daily Tasks (http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...fo498-2.6.html) rather than Busy Bee Tasks as I didn't like the extra clutter on my screen and couldn't get it to behave the way I wanted.

Daily Tasks instead uses commands (or type /dtw to get the window open) and lists the items you have in the chat window depending on what filter you select. For example, I use the "unusable" filter a lot to see what tasks items I've overlevelled, so I pass them to an alt or just sell them. Or there is the "complete" filter to see what you can hand in currently.

Either plugin, Daily Tasks or Busy Bee, will make dealing with tasks a million times easier. I wish I started using them a long time ago.
