An apology, and a plea
I know by now most of the moors has heard about what I did, heck most of the server has, and if you have not, I am sure you will soon. I speak for no one but myself right now. I am sorry, what I did was low, and I know it. I made a bad choice, and now I have to deal with the consequences. I am taking an extended break from the moors, I do not intend to return until after Rohan. However, the reason I made this thread is not that I am feeling sorry for myself, its that I see how my actions have effected others, my tribe should not be suffering because of my stupidity. Do not take me into account when you look at my tribe, because I intend to not be a part of things for a long time, that is all I have to say.

If you're referring to the freaver farming exploit, good for you for speaking up.
Actions speak louder than words. With the hope that you don't go back on this and join those clowns again, I forgive you.
But I will still eat your face.Valahn

C'mon, really?? You know as well as anyone, that what you were doing was BS. You are one of the biggest call-outs when they are farming. So, for you to post an apology after knowingly engaging in other than respectable gameplay and getting what you were after is PURE JUNK.
This rings to the same apology some RK gave after he was done farming and got the gear he/she wanted.
Next you'll be telling us, "I did it for the community", like the last farmer.Last edited by AnAltruisticEgoist; Jul 06 2012 at 11:11 AM.

You could also delete any audacity gear that you got from it.

Personally, I think you should have seen the person who arranged that little circus, and how he is blacklisted by half the community and said: "hmmm... is this REALLY someone I want to go do something with that the rest of the community is going to see as bad sportsmanship at best, and cheating at worst, with?"
But... if we burned every person at the stake who has ever done something stupid, the world would be a very unpopulated place.

I see little difference doing what he did and what many others have done. What is the real difference in doing that and steamrolling your opponent when they have no chance either? What about being on a massively OP class with little chance of dying? Being in massively powerful groups that have little chance of dying? Differences...meh...maybe a splitting of a hair is all.
Anyway, the dude said it was bad form, copped to it and is taking a break. Whether it is real or not is immaterial he at least acknowledged it, which is better than many would and have done. Not condoning the behavior, but many people who would start throwing stones might need to duck themselves. We all know that people here, and some who have replied, used the turbine allows it excuse to state their behavior is alright in the past. He wasn't banned so turbine allows it.....fine fine line some are walking while throwing stones. Good thing lotro physics doesn't allow for ricochets.Last edited by gleowine; Jul 07 2012 at 07:27 PM.

He made what he freely admits was an error in judgement even in his eyes, and apologized for his actions. Why not take him at his word and let it all go?

Why not??? Well, because he knew it was wrong beforehand. So, to give an apology for something you knew was wrong in the first place, is nothing more than a SHAM of an apology.
He was one of the biggest protestors of the farmers. Had he not been so vehement over the farming that was taking place, his apology would be more believable.

An apology is only an apology if you actually apologize for something. You guys are filling in blanks that he didn't make. It's hard to take an apology seriously when you don't directly apologize for the act.
It is a cop out. Not that my acceptance of an apology matters one way or another. I really don't care how people choose to care. But honesty is a nice trait to carry, and a dishonest act was compounded by an apology that was was equally not honest.
But these things can be corrected...

... hmm,
now i don't know 100% what he's done. from your replies I read through the lines here he was in a bigger group farming newbies- is that right?
yes, that would not have been very noble of him. though if thats the reason for all the anger, we all are sure aware of how many other players then would line up for your blacklist.
his apolgy:
at least he did apologize, while others don't even bother.
though an apology is fast and lightly given, once the good reputation is at risk.
and suddenly the apology seems less noble to me.
.............................. ......
Example:
there is this certain high ranked Warg, who apologized to me...
a bit astray from my group i ended up fighting mentioned warg. as usual against wargs, I lost- no news ;-) and i don't bother either, i have fun
then I suddenly got an IM, where he apologized for using his "store-brand", he deemed it unfair towards me and "only used it for killing me faster" (how comforting- lol)
Well, I play Lore-Master only (75'elf and 65'human) and don't know too much about other classes, especially not about creeps. So I presumed it's a highrank-skill he got and answered "np". he should not be sorry for using his skills. (stupid me thought my CC-strikes simply missed).
So i told my group of this nice high-ranked warg, and that he "even" apologized for using his store-brand-skill- what does it do anyway?. My group: "Sweet silly, thats no skill. He bought that form the store to resist your CC! And he only apologized for not gaining bad reputation on this server- what's his name?"
When you fear for your reputation, you know its not right. An apology, as welcome as it is, may not save you then either.
I havn't been out to the moors since.

QFT. My most prized piece of loot is my rank earned Insignia.
The real crime is that Turbine in their infinite wisdom made the store bought consumable ones usable IN combat.
All they needed to do was put a healthy cooldown on the store boughts and make them out of combat like the earned ones and it'd be no big deal.Second Marshal Luc Brandenbuck ~Battlemaster~
