    Level for mounted combat

Is mounted combat only at use for level 75's? or can you do it at any level?

Devs stated that the initial quest for it will be 75, thus you will not be able to use mounted combat unless you are 75.

Actually...if it's a level 75 quest, one ought to be allowed to try at level 70, though it might an elaborate form of suicide to make the attempt.

    Ok, my mistake.
    Turbine confirmed that
    1) The quest allowing mounted combat will be 75.
    2) Only 75+ characters will be able to use mounted combat.

P.S. A lot of quests can only be done at their level: i.e Draigoch, class quests, etc.

Could be level gated the same way the Ox-clan quest is.
    Not showing up before 75...

    edit: darn, too slow :P

As others have stated, the quest for learning mounted combat will only be available at Rohan, so just getting to Rohan will require serious level, regardless of what the restrictions upon quest aquisition may be ( most likely, 75+ only). However, if you have the legendary edition, training your horse up can be done at any level - you just wont be able to use the result until you can make it to Rohan.

How do you figure that? At present, there are two "horse related" deeds at Hengaster Farm. One gets you a horse skill, with a not very useful, cryptic description. About all one can tell about it is the power (171) and the cool down (24h). The other deed gets a cloak and a comment from mousing over the completed deed icon about the deed being useful in Rohan...but no specifics. I don't see that any of that amounts to "training your horse".

Maybe hes in beta and let something slip?

For all those who have done the equine cape deed is there any indication that completing the deed and getting the cape also gives something else?

No, that seems to be the end of it.
You can still do the dailies at Hengstacer's, however (for no reward), so I spent my 30 minutes as a horse around Bree and MD, but the portal to Ered Luin wouldn't let me through.

False. There are already number of quests that are explicitly for lvl 75 charaters and you can't pick em earlier. "There is gold in the mountains" comes to mind, plus the one you get to discover Ox-camp in Isengard.

Are you serious! There are thousands of characters arround and they will allow only 75 of them to use mounted combat ?

No, you misunderstand. Only 75 characters... per player!

Didn't they tell you that they felt like LOTRO just isn't massive enough so for mounted combat, they're putting in what's sort of an MMORTS mini-game?

Well... There *is* the text you get when you mouse over the red seal in the completed "Horsing Around" deed that hints at *something* to do with Rohan and horses...but there's nothing specific. Thus the question becomes...does it mean something, is Turbine just being coy, or is it just a throw-away line? Only time will tell...

I plan to complete the deed on the rest of my high level characters....just in case. All my guys should have it completed in about another 2 weeks.

If there is no gain to gameplay even if it is miniscule I will not finish the deed.

If there is even a small gain to gameplay or extra inclusion I would be inclined to do the deeds on all my alts.

Any chance a dev or someone can give a definite answer?

I suspect the answer is not a numerical one, but "high enough to survive in Rohan." This will depend not only on your level but on your class. Some classes are tougher than others. I speak as one who plays the two squishiest, LM and Minstrel.

Consider how well your character did in Great River, and then factor in that s/he will now be able to add more levels, and figure out whether s/he can do Rohan.
