Thread: Noob UI problem...

Being a new player to the game i expect there is an obvious answer, i cannot work it out so here goes...
Simply put, when i press ctrl-\ to customise my UI, nothing happens!

Is it because im FP or is there some setting im overlooking? i'd just dearly love to spread out the "block" of clickable buttons above the tool bar!!

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

[ ctl + \ ] allows you to move (most) stuff around. If you have an older computer (like mine, ahem), sometimes it takes a little while to activate.

But to "spread out" the hotkeys, you have to just make them bigger - [ctl + o} gets you to Options, then under the UI tab (I think?) you can set the size of those buttons, in the same area as you can change the size of the various fonts/etc.

You also might have to unlock the UI's in the option menu.This at least worked for me.

If you're using a non-US keyboard, it's CTRL#

the unlock UI key depends on the region your keyboard is set to but on most standard keyboards the UI unlock keys are ctrl+ whatever key is at the end of the ASDF row

if you still cant find the key check on options > keymapping for the key bound to "reposition UI"

Also make sure you dont have the cursor active in the chat window

Problem solved It's was the CTRL-# being that i have a Euro laptop..

On a side note. I come from another very popular mmo that i decided to leave primarly because of the horrific trolling and flaming, if i'd asked a question like this on their forums i fear that by now i would have become a basket case :P So again thanks for the advise and also confirming that i've made the right choice of game
