Before this post gets moved, deleted or such. I wish to explain my reasons for posting it in the general forums. The <thread> running in the pvmp forums and someone suggested posting it here, as the pvmp forums are not visited by as many people, so I would ask for that reason it not to be moved/locked/deleted so more people will be able to view it, it is their choice if they want to sign it or not and the majority of feedback on the creation of the petition has been very positive.
Some of you may be aware of the sheer amount of frustration shown by pvmp players in that forum, understandable yes but can also understand why people may not visit as much.
I post here, not a complaint, a whine or moan. But a productive petition that simply states “Give more attention to PvMP in the video game Lord of the Rings Online” . It currently has 84 signatures but I know there are more people who actually want more attention given to pvmp.
PvMP was actually a, and I hesitate to use the word “afterthought” but a pretty good one that had a lot of potential. Over the years the game has developed to a good standard, although pvmp has fallen behind, which is a shame.
I play a rank 11 warleader, or rather used to, and not drawing into that debate I feel it’s important to put that out there for people’s reference.
I really enjoyed LOTRO, but for me I have lost that. Yes it is primarily a PvE/RP game, I agree. But PvMP is there it is a part of the game that was and in some cases still is enjoyed so it should receive that same standard.
Many petitions have been done before, but haven’t really achieved much. For me this is a last effort before I just don’t log in anymore, which is a shame because I have a lot of friends in LOTRO.
I hope people don’t see this as a negative; I am merely trying to do something constructive to try and help the game I invested so much time in.
Not so much an afterthought, more an Easter Egg perhaps?
Its not my bag but I do know folks for whom it is central to their lives. I suspect the poster who remarked on being able tio spend TP is close to the mark. If you are 14 have no g/f and too much testosterone, hack Dad's credit card and voom, instacreepower:-)
However, I do feel that that only gathering 84 supporters in a month, after posting in the PvMP Forum, has to be regarded as a pretty poor response.
You may have just proved that PvMP really is a minority activity, and that only a very few vocal supporters actually care about it.
At the current rate, it will take something close to 2 years to reach your target of 2000 signatures, which in itself would not really be a very large proportion of the community.
Sorry to be blunt, but that is the impression it creates.
Appreciate the incentive and initiative, but Turbine fails, nothing we can do about it.
Surely they can only fail if they didn't achieve their objective? Unfortunately, their objective was to provide a minimal PvP experience. I would say that they succeeded completely.

That many signatures would be EASILY acquired if it was publicised in every creep chat on every server, but only a minority of creeps actually use the forums, and only about 50% of that minority go outside their server forums.

I've reached a state of apathy with LOTRO. Some others might be in the same situation.
I went to sign the petition -- I agree that they need to put more effort in to PvMP, however, the format requires my irl address?? I don't mind putting in my email but not my actual address. Regardless it's high time they considered Middle Earth is a world at war and PvMP ought to occur in some form outside of the Ettenmoors at this point. I realize it can't be open world -- I wouldn't like that either -- but there has to be something they can do to enhance the experience to be more inclusive.
Just think of the possibilities if they raided that room for ideas *chuckle*. I imagine a new intern on a tour tries the handle of the door leading to that room and their boss grabs their arm roughly stating *not THAT room -- DON"T enter there!!!*. Naturally his curiosity is peaked giving us that glimmer of hope from the bottom of the totem pole that something could actually happen here.....

In that case Creeps (and Freeps) should attempt to spread the word out, /OOC in every server about this petition and posting the petition in every servers PVMP section of the forums sounds like a strong idea to get the word out.

That's because most of us realise 2000 signatures arn't going to do anything. You could hold a Turbine employee at gunpoint and they'll carry on playing their minstrels.
Only a minority of the population (freep and creep) use the forums, as squelcher said above.

A few people have hinted at what I'm about to say, but have not quite gotten my situation down. Personally, it's too late for me to be going around signing petitions. I don't think Turbine cares about PvMP. I don't think they will change if we sign a petition, or even have a protest. I'm not going to put any effort in to getting PvMP "changed" or improved in any way. I'm over that. I'll keep playing (when I rarely do play), but I expect the future of LotRO to introduce more bugs, more lag, and more unbalanced skills to the 'moors.
If you do not even try to communicate using clear and concise English, I will ignore you.
I don't like all the negativity in the whole Monster Play forum as a whole, also in this thread, but sadly, it's true. If I thought it would change anything, I would've signed it. It won't, so I won't.

You would understand the negativity if you'd been playing for as long as some of us. We've been given false hope, then punched in the face by Turbine many many times.

Not to mention those, like myself, that don't bother because they know it'll accomplish nothing.
