Support Sent Me Here... please Help :)

This is the second time I got the following email, so as instructed, this is the second time I will post it here
    Greetings ,

Thank you for your response. While a subscription has VIP access, there are items and upgrades in the store that are not available for purchase, because the subscription already has that upgrade. This is done to prevent accidental purchases of upgrade that are already available on a specific subscription.
We apologize, but at this time we do not have any options to work around this restriction. If you would like the ability to purchase access that you already have while VIP, please submit feedback in our LOTRO Store Forum.
If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you.
    Thank You,
    Turbine Customer Support

    Turbine, powered by our fans.

My account is pending cancellation on 7/5/2012. I want to buy The Great River Quest Pack TODAY, while it is still 50% off. The store will not let me because they consider Pending Cancellation still as VIP... Can someone please sell me this quest pack today while it is on sale...

For once can I get a break and not have to pay full price for every last thing in my life... There is a sale advertised and I want it... please sell it to me... Thanks...

    For the second time:

You will not be able to purchase it on sale.

Support told you to post your feedback here but did not say that you would be able to purchase it on sale.

All you can do and have done is added your voice to the number of people asking for the ability to purchase rented things while VIP.

This might be a long shot, but have you tried calling Account Support/Billing directly and asking them to end your VIP immediately? I don't know that they can do it, but it is the only thing I can think of that might let you buy the quest pack sooner than the 5th.

If it works, you have lost 2 days of VIP, which is probably more than made up in the savings on the quest pack.
If it does not work, you are no worse off than you started.

For more than the second time for me: Just because Turbine wants to think they can tell paying customers that it is "just too bad you already paid us, otherwise we could offer you these same great deals!"
I hate going into the store to see what is on sale, because when I go to the web-site and see those Quest Packs on sale it really, really frustrates me. I want access to those deals no less than the people who are not paying them a monthly fee. Again, there are still more reasons for me to remain VIP even after I have purchased said Quest Packs (as I have listed elsewhere, see my links to those posts at the bottom). However, if for some reason I am unable to afford it for a month or two I would like to have those permanently on my account that I have been paying them monthly for. Instead they treat it as though this should be completely acceptable, yet I am forced to realize that it would be FAR more cost effective for me (someone willing to spend money on the game, but still looks for the best value I can get for my $$ in this economy) to just pay one time for that content and never pay them again. I should not try to support their game by giving them my monthly payments, I should just spend a lump sum and buy all the content that I can one time and just not pay them again until they release more content (that is worth purchasing). I was about to throw them $70 for a Legendary RoR pre-purchase. Yet if this is the way they treat their "VIPs" then I do not wish to aid them, even in my small part, by paying them any money for any of their products. Some of my money is going to an MMO, I thought it was going to be this one. That is also quite frustrating, because I am willing to miss out on this game in order to play one of the MANY OTHER F2P MMOs and give a different company my money.

you might want to check with tech support on the forum as the blue is missing from your name... I say that because I am assuming from your post that you work for turbine and are authorized to speak for them?

I was instructed to come here and ask and no one working for turbine has responded... as for voice adding... I will remind you that the latest xpac did not come with TP... but turbine added TP to the xpac because of our voices (at least that is what they said)...

No, I don't work for Turbine, as you well know. You are misinterpreting the response you got (they could have worded it better). I'm speaking from experience being a customer and reading the forums.

You will be lucky to get a response from Turbine on the forums. Some do, most don't. It is not the place to get a personal response. It is also not possible to get specific account support here (you should not give account identifying details here in public.

Here is your blue post stating that (a) you cannot end VIP early and (b) there is no way around the store not showing you the pack.

You're one of many asking for this ability. Don't hold your breath, though. For now, Turbine has obviously decided that the cost of supporting people who paid for things twice and don't like it is more than the benefit of allowing smart cookies like yourself (the minority) the ability to plan ahead.

well they shouldnt send me here if ther actual response is screw you, you aint getting it and to say that they dont have a workaround is also insulting as we know with technology today that this is a lie...

so if you are going to lie to me and give me intentionally misworded instructions then I will be waiting right here for the truth... and all I can do is hope that if I keep coming here and more people do the same, that eventually our numbers will become the majority and we will get what we want...

The instructions you received from Account Support have recently been changed in order to provide a more understandable and reasonable set of expectations to other users. Your feedback regarding the VIP content purchase limitations has been noted.

The problem with this hope is that this isn't an issue that the majority need. Most players are either VIP or are F2P/Premium, and the current system works well for either. The F2P/Premium players who actually have a use for quest packs can get them and the VIP players who don't have any use for them don't have those items cluttering the Store and causing confusion as to what they do or do not need. It's only players who are switching back and forth between different types of plans that would have any reason to want to get a quest pack while VIP (and even that only if there's a good sale going on while they're VIP). Now that may be a sizeable enough minority that it would be nice if Turbine offered the ability, but it is a minority. Most VIPs have no use for quest packs (other than expansion regions).

Still, I agree it would be nice to have the option. I actually thought it would be on the way when I saw DDO added something like it. There is a radio button on the Store window there to Show All, giving the option to hide things that don't apply to your character or to display everything in the Store.

DDO let's you see things when you click the radio button but you still can not buy anything that that option allows you to see.
