The performance will take place at The Party Tree on The Hill, in the Shire and will take approximately 2 hours.
The Hobbit or There And Back Again was originally a story Professor Tolkien wrote for his children. The book was published in 1937.It is a fantasy novel, a story of a heroic quest, a children's story....and , of course, a true hobbit tale
"I am personally immensely amused by hobbits as such, and can contemplate them eating and making their rather fatuous remarks indefinitely" - J.R.R.Tolkien
"We are plain quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!"- Bilbo Baggins
"You're a very fine person, Mr. Baggins, and I'm quite fond of you. But you are really just a little fellow, in a wide world after all" - Gandalf
Please do come and join us to celebrate Bilbo Baggins's birthday and adventures.

It is all because of the different times and summer times that we tend to get confused
Of course in September we will still use Summer time so the time of the performance are as follow :
London (United Kingdom - England) Saturday, 22 September 2012, 20:00:00 (8pm) (British Summer Time)
Europe Saturday, 22 September 2012, 21:00:00 (9pm) (Central European Summer Time)
Boston (U.S.A. ) Saturday, 22 September 2012, 15:00:00 (3pm) (/servertime)
Thank you for pointing out that to me, Loriandra ...and looking forward to see you at The Party Tree
Updates and a full musical program will be posted in this thread when ready.Last edited by Amorey; Jul 04 2012 at 02:58 AM. Reason: I hope the times are right now .Thank you, Lina :)

International timekeeping is a confuzzling mystery and and no mistake! BST is at GMT +1, and Servertime follows Eastern/Boston time, not Chicago/Central. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/tim.../eastern-time/
Assuming you start at 8PM UK/British Summer Time (GMT +1), the times for the event would be:
- 3PM servertime (GMT -4)
- 9PM central EU summer time (GMT +2)
Good luck with the event!Lina Willowwood, biscuit-eating bard on Laurelin

Busy songwriters and musicians are continuing to work on the upcoming production of There And Back Again. We hope to be able to share a sneak preview of what to expect soon, in the meantime here are the words of one of the songs we will perform

Pilgrim Grey
From mountain tall to sea low coast
Grey Pilgrim walks on snow and grass
Untouched by rain or sun or frost
Holding his staff as time does pass
Climing to Bag End, The Hill, The Shire
Where Bilbo sits by his warm fire
On one adventure we go today
Over the hills and far away.
Pilgrim Grey on snow and grass
A hobbit friend so old and wise
He shall not let the evil pass
A great tale in his heart lies
Climbing to Bag End, The Hill, The Shire
Where Bilbo sits by his warm fire
On one adventure we go today
Over the hills and far away.
A road that goes ever ever on
Under the clouds and the bright stars
We will follow it until dawn
Then turn at last to home afar
Climbing to Bag End, The Hill, The Shire
Where Bilbo sits by his warm fire
On one adventure we go today
Over the hills and far away.

Only 18 days to go before There And Back Again , and of course Mister Bilbo and Mister Frodo's Birthday.
It will be a lovely 'hobbity' evening.
And as we continue to prepare , here are the words of an other song we will perform on the night...
Asleep a golden dragon there lay so fierce and strong,
Smaug lay with his wing folded as Bilbo comes along
This is the greatest treasure that one could ever find
Smaug guards the dwarves old gold in faint light he shine
"Well, thief, I can smell you, I feel you in the air"
"So come along and help yourself, there is plenty here to spare"
"No, thank you Tremendous Smaug, I must soon be on me way"
"Came here just to see you sire, no gold I need, I'd say"
"You have good manners thief, and know my own old name"
"Who are you and where you're from ? I want to know the same"
"From under hill I come, through air I walk unseen and low"
"Clue-finder, stinging fly, I am the lucky number to and fro"
"I am the friend of bears, Ringwinner and eagles guest"
"I wear my luck with pride, I love to look my best"
"Never laugh at live dragons, Bilbo you old fool lad"
"Alive I must away from here, better not make the dragon mad"

Oh my...getting so close now, The Hill is filled with hobbits getting ready for a great party and a night to remember, food is been prepared, barrels of ale are been carried up from Hobbiton, the little lanterns lit on the branches of the Party Tree.
Just a wee note to let you know things are going well ...so what about a sing-a-long ?
This is There And Back Again, the main song of the musical

I've staged a couple of musical theatricals on Landroval (about the early history of Arda) and I know how much work goes into it. I can't wait to see this ambitious project and maybe learn some tips and tricks for my future projects.
I've got to write this down so I don't forget.

Very excited and a bit scared I think. Still managing to keep quite calm, but I think this wont last. Actors have one more day off tomorrow and then it will be all go till the performance. I think I am singing the songs even in my sleep now, which is rather funny, and I do feel like Bilbo...when he was on this great adventure but all he really wanted was to sit in front of his fireplace , drinking a cup of tea and eating a muffin. But yes, we are almost there...what a journey !
And here please find enclosed the lyrics of an other of our songs ....
BEORN THE BEAR MAN (QUEER LODGINGS)
Between the mountains and Mirkwood
Lives Beorn Friend of Beast
Inside a lovely wooden house
His guests will share a feast
Beorn the Bear Man will welcome you
Be as kind as he can be
To his animal friends he talks
Like he does to you and to me
The winds was hauling on the highs
But in Beorn's house safe you are
No goblins here will surely strife
In fear of losing their life.
Bilbo and the dwarves around the fire
Queer lodgings they can see
Beorn talking to dogs and seep
Like he does to you and me
"Secret elven path take into the wood"
"The Forest Road not safe these days"
"Many dangers avoid you should"
"Follow secret path, do not stray!"
Between the mountains and Mirkwood
Lives Beorn Friend of Beast
Inside a lovely wooden house
His guests will share a feast
Beorn the Bear Man will welcome you
Be as kind as he can be
To his animal friends he talks
Like he does to you and to me
Bilbo and the dwarves around the fire
Queer lodgings they can see
Beorn talking to dogs and seep
Like he does to you and me
Beorn the Bear Man will welcome you
Be as kind as he can be
To his animal friends he talks
Like he does to you and to me

Thank you

So one day to go and a few more things I want to say : this is a musical and theatrical performance , there are songs and there many words as you can imagine. We did try to condense the whole book in just over one hour and a half. I am confident many in the audience will know the story already . In the next still the cast is performing the song Thorin's Farewell

Thorin:
"Farewell Bilbo good thief"
"To my old Halls I go"
"Beside my brave fathers
"Until the world is new"
"I leave all gold and silver"
"I have no need for them"
"I wish to part as friend"
"Farewell! Farewell"
Bilbo:
"Farewell King Under Mountain"
"This is a bitter end"
"No gold can buy a life"
"I'm glad we part as friends"
"All perils that we shared
"Adventures great and small"
"Now rest in your old Halls"
"Farewell! Farewell"
Thorin:
"If more of us valued..."
"Food, cheers above old gold"
"Would be a merrier world"
"That sure I know"
"I must leave, I am cold"
"Farewell! Farewell"
Bilbo:
Here lies King Under Mountain
Thorin the Bold

I want to give all possible praise to everyone behind this great event. It was really well performed, and there must have been a lot of planning and work behind this. Thanks a lot for your time and effort, it was a wonderful show! Worthy of Bilbo indeed!

Big thank you to the entire ensemble! You guys rocked!
It was obvious that you had put a lot of work in this, the flow of the storytelling was perfect.
We laughed, cried and cowered (Smaug was super scary!).

Congratulations to Amorey, and to Peppy and Simbo and Tahitoa, it was a truly wonderful show. I liked the songs the best, some were merry, some were haunting, and one was so sad it made us cry. Thank you for putting this on for us-- it was well worth the trip from Landroval!
How the dwarves came to Hobbiton:

Meeting Elrond:

A very creepy Gollum:

On behalf of Hobbit Heart and Shire Rose, I want to thank all those that came to the performance last night. It was so wonderful to see you all, and I am sorry if I forgot to greet any of you but it was a very busy time for me. When Hobbit Heart was founded I had this dream...the dream was to bring Bilbo's story to life with music. Last night this dream came true! Thank you to the hard work and dedication of all Hobbit Heart members we were able to transport the audience on a great adventure. We are looking forward to repeat this performance again sometime in the future. Thank you kindly again, we hope you enjoyed your evening and we hope to see you again to our future concerts and performances.

Amorey! Congratulations!!!
This was a beautiful, well done concert. It must have been lots of work behind it, Narration, but also all the lyrics on the songs.
I truly enjoyed
Hopefully you will do the same concert next year? This is what I love about Laurelin. So many creative people, that manage to create an event to an extend that it truly feels worth to see it, because is somewhat feels so real and contains so much quality
Also kudos to the rest of the members! they did a great job. Especially I loved Peppy's interpretation of Smaug
*thumbs up*
