Yeah, sadly most housing issues are, from a development standpoint, apparently on a back-burner ... under a rock... on Pluto. In other words, don't hold your breath waiting for any sweeping changes to the housing system. Many (including myself) have begged for some meaningful updates to the housing system, but due to limited resources, the economy, etc., etc., it's not a priority and for now is as good as it's going to get.
That happens a lot here. You get used to it. /sigh
Regarding mounts: Regular mounts are better anyway because you can take shortcuts with them. For example: the route from Tinnudir to Ost Forod. At higher levels you can cut across the field and up the hill, instead of going all the way to the crossroads. Same with Esteldin-Othrikar.

Is there a command that shows the pop of user made chat channels a player is in?
Bueller?
When you first enter a user channel, it will tell you how many are in the channel at that time. However, I'm unaware of any command you can issue subsequent to entering the channel that will provide that same info.
There's long been a request to provide a /who [userchannel] command, but it's apparently not a priority (or would be perceived as an undue demand on system resources, especially on larger global channels such as /glff.)
If you want to obtain an updated population count (for a user made chat channel) merely leave that channel and rejoin it. Voila! LOL! A pain in the "Who who nanny"... but hey... it works.
I knew you could link an item by dragging to the chat line, but couldn't figure out how to link products of trade skill recipes.
From the Release notes Book 14:
You can now Ctrl+right-click on many of the item icons in the game to create an item link in your chat window instead of dragging them to the text entry field. This includes item icons in the Auction house, crafting panel, quest rewards, vendors / barter NPCs, and so on. You can also re-map this command, "Item Link To Chat", in the Key Mapping section of the Options Panel.
>>> Note that this does not link the recipe including ingredients, but does allow you to link the item produced by the recipe by ctrl+right-click on either the icon shown in the recipe or the master crafted icon.
Bump for future usefulness to players new and old.

Not all those who wander are lost. Just me. Now where did that refrigerator get to?
I wish I knew how to consolidate stacks of items in my inventory. shift/drag only lets me split stacks of stuff. I can re-stack stuff I've split, but I can't stack two separate stacks of the same item. So if I have stacks of "Hearty Breakfasts" with 2 in one stack, and 3 in another stack, I can't consolidate those into a stack of 5. it shows the total amount on my quickslot where I have it, but in my inventory, it's taking up two spaces where it should be able to only take up one space.
apparently "bound" and "bound to account" food or healing items cannot be stacked together, even if they are identical otherwise, and even if they show a consolidated total on your quickslots.
I had gotten some of them from a vendor, and some of them from the Lotro Store, and even though they're the same item, they won't stack. Because I can stack two stacks of "bound" items, or two stacks of "bound to account" items.
It's just odd that the quickslot bar recognizes they're the same, and the inventory doesn't. Oh well.
Hey there. Great catch and something I didn't know. Due to not getting the correct Turbine Points on my own account I haven't bought anything from the store yet. This is good to know for future reference
- In the Auction House search interface, you can drag and drop an item from your inventory to get results. That way you can get an idea of the demand and price for an item before you post it. Of course you can just type it in but dragging and dropping = no typos

Omg I didn't know that!

If you right click a name in chat you can inspect the character right then and there. No need to open the social window.
Also in the action house when looking for a specific item or resource you can click and drag an item in to the search field.
If you have a large repair bill, repair in your housing community. Based on whether you have a small house, large house and whether your kinship house is also located in the same housing community your discount will be larger.
Remap your arrow keys (if you do not use them for movement) to the color wheel for conjunctions. Remap the 0 on your keypad for the conjunction assist key. This will allow you to contribute to most conjunctions.
Protip: Add at least one additional non-conjunction attack before joining the conjunction for maximum damage.
