Thread: No Elvish Relics in Goblin Town, but lots of Mathoms

I'm trying to get the World-Renowned and Ambassador to the Elves deeds done. I'm currently in the Misty Mountains, grinding through Goblin Town and The Stairs. It has been several hours since an elvish relic has dropped. Instead what I'm getting is tons and tons of well-kept mathoms. I have so many well-kept mathoms that I could probably start up two new characters, and have enough to get them both to kindred status with the Shire.

Is this normal? Are elvish relics just that rare? There aren't enough quests in Trollshaws to get me to kindred, I out leveled the task boards in 2 days, which I think it's stupid to have level restrictions on those to begin with. Any other way to get to kindred? I don't have the ludicrous amounts of gold they ask for in the Auction House, so it seems like I'm out of luck.

They are, indeed, annoyingly rare. But if you kill enough, you'll get them. You can also buy them with skirmish marks at any camp, if you have a lot of those.

If you're a Scholar, you can craft rep items as well.

I never farm GT for riven rep, I just don't find it that good. Though much harder to get to I usually go and do my wight slayer deed in trollshaws and get lots of rep items at the same time.

At night time the amount of Wights is the highest, during day time the majority of them are replaced by crawlers. You can find them at following places:

• Amon Varadh, north from Thorenhad at ^{[27.9S, 14.9W]}.
• Minas Ciliant, north from Amon Varadh at ^{[27.0S, 14.7W]}.
• Ost Chall, east from Minas Ciliant at ^{[26.9S, 14.0W]}.

I ended up having just enough skirmish marks to get to kindred. Thanks for letting me know about that. I never skirmished much, I've really neglected so many aspects of this game, purely soloing and epic quests and whatever I need to continue the epics really. I suppose I will need to go back and experience everything else. Now I just need Malledhrim and at least then I'll have ambassador to the elves done. I got a long way to go for World-Renowned yet.

Another good place to get Elvish Relics is the camp just outside the entrance to Helegrod. You can run up and down the hill farming relics at a pretty good clip.
