Is there any way to get the launcher to run a force verification on the installed files?
I've just shifted venues for my lvl 15 Hunter from Ered Luin to Bree, and have been unable to locate 2 quest NPCs:
Gytha Lainey for "The Hunter's Path".
Bonny Thatcher for "A Tour of Bree".
The minimap shows quest pointer arrows, but the NPCs are simply not present.
Past experience with other MMOs suggests that this may be the result of corrupted game data, so I tried to find a way to get the launcher to verify my installation.
Gytha Lainey is a good hunter who may be found at Adso's Camp in Bree-land. She is engaged in getting new and somewhat better trained Hunters to sharpen their skills. Map Ref: [29.3S, 56.8W]

Yes. I've looked them up in the lorebook. What I'm saying is that they are not in the game world AFAICT.
In the case of the Bree crafthall, there are a few other NPCs (vendors) that are shown on the minimap, but are not actually present. Hence my suspicion about corrupt game files.
Situation resolved via complete reinstall: Mildly annoying with 1.5 Mbit link (effective throughput of c. 160 kB/s). Bonny Thatcher and other missing craft hall NPCs now appear and Tour quest proceeded with no further problems. Will go to look Gytha later on.
An obvious way to verify install files would have been useful, IMO.
