I arrived here after doing all the quests in the previous location (forgot what the place was called already, ha). Upon arriving here, i struggled getting to Echad Candelleth. Then i got the NPC companion, and i need to do quests with him. But christ, i am not having much luck progressing. I seem to do fine killing three elites, and trolls by themselves. But there's this one quest where i need to burn the flags and also mark these stone things; one stone is located in the flag burning area. By the time i kill one of the trolls, and the three guys on the steps, they're already re-spawning as i am trying to catch my breath. Aaah!
I just got to level thirty-nine, and have opened up some legendary quest, perhaps i should do this and then move onto Angmar? Yet i don't like the feeling as if i am not going to have much luck there as they start at forty, or eventually its going to catch up on me being a level behind.

It's weird, I believe myself to know LOTRO quests pretty well and I have no idea what you're talking about. Kill Elite Trolls? Burn some Flags? NPC companion? All that sounds familiar and I could make a rough guess on the exact quests you're talking about - except none of them have any relations at all to Echad Candelleth. Care to provide some more info?
Eh, they look like trolls, and it seems as if i am burning flags. Bad description of the quests, i know. Now that i am logged on, i can say what the quests are. Banners of the iron crown & Mountain of angmar.

Do you mean Echad Garthadir in Annuminas, Evendim? If so, many of those quests are (if I remember correctly) meant for a small fellowship, but are soloable if you're careful. Evendim is usually the go-to area for 30-40, so you shouldn't have *too* difficult of a time finding a group, but I usually skip it and head to Angmar if I can't get a group together in a reasonable amount of time. 38/39/40 are really the target levels for the area though, so you're not doing anything wrong that I can tell.
Learael Longshanks, Officer of the Dawnbreakers - Vilya Server
...and numerous alts
Get some friends, or start thinking differently. All of the monuments can be soloed or snuck up to (without stealth) except the one in the flag-burning area. There you should employ your pet(s) and/or crowd control to distract the mobs so you can tag the monument then run away. Or just put together a fellowship. Or skip the fellowship quests.
A spaceship from another star / They ask me where all the people are
I tell them I'm the only one / There was a war, but I must have won

I'm going to concur with Placida on this one. While I'm among the first to admit that Echad Candelleth in the Southern Trollshaws is a serious pain in the tuches along the lines of what you're describing (especially at night), it doesn't have a single Iron Crown Banner near there. So I'm thinking you got your Echads mixed up in your head.
Don't worry. There's a LOT of Echads out there. Most of us get at least one of them mixed up in our heads at some point in time, along with all the various Tyls and Osts, and Dols and Barads. That's part of the reason why I have LotRO-wiki open in another tab whenever I'm giving advice on these forums, if only to keep from accidentally sending some poor bugger to Edenwaith instead of Ered Luin because I typed in the wrong name.
As to Annuminas... It's designed to be as painful as possible. Much like other areas later on, they're much easier if you bring a friend or two along to help spread around the work, unless you're running one of the heavy DPS/heavy survival classes that can wade through a group of mobs while chortling lightly at how they are always tickling you for no reason. And yes, this is entirely by design, as the Annuminas quests are a direct lead-in to the Annuminas instances.
So yeah, in brief. Two options. Suck it up and slaughter them or move on and slaughter somewhere else.
