Thread: Activating a "LOTRO Shadows of Angmar" copy

i just saw in a store an old but new copy of shadows of angmar (which if i'm correct it's the base game, right?)

can i buy it and activate it on my account to get VIP status and subscriber stuff or those copies are useless now that the game is f2p?

SoA box codes will only give you at least 30days of game time as ViP, after which your account will revert to premium, you will not retain any quest packs unless you already own them

you can still use an unused code for SoA IF

• the box does no contain a codemasers logo, boxes must only contain the turbine and midway logo. if purchased within the EU the box is likely to be a codemasters copy which will no longer work
• you have never added an SoA code to your account
• you have not added a MoM code to your account

But be sure that it's not a copy which has Codemasters codes on it. Some time ago I read that Codemasters VIP codes are not accepted anymore since the game went on to Turbine ... I know an online book shop in Germany which has a lot of Codemasters LotRo stuff on sale, but since you can't use the codes anymore, it's not worth the money. So be careful!
