    Torahamas Cloak

    Greetings,

I was wondering if there is any way of getting the Torahamas Cloak recepie other than hoping it may drop from a recepie box. Before all recepies went to boxes it had a high chance of dropping off certain mobs. But now.....i barely seen a recepie. I ask because it is the kin of my cloak and now we are having trouble making enough....Is there a rep vendor that sells it? If not could Turbine devs be as kind as to put it there? makes the whole existance of Torahamas useless.....

Bla bla bla signature fail bla bla.

If it's the look of the cloak your kin is after I'm sure I've seen it elsewhere although unfortunately I can't remember what it was. I just recall quite recently thinking "oh thats the Torahammas pattern". Sadly I can't recall if it was quest reward , drop or what but at least we know the look isn't unique. It's a shame we aren't on the same server as I know I have a few patterns in my vault somewhere. Maybe if you put out a request on glff/trade and so on somebody might be sat on one or two or try the forum for your server.

    Good luck

The Forochel rep vendor doesn't have it for sale? (Just a guess, not sure...haven't looked in a while). It might drop from Torahamma's himself as well...

Got my curiousity up, I'll have to go kill him a few times sometime soon and check.

Torahamas drops the Tuft and shard which are mats. The recepie was drop from mobs around lvl 40ish (many in angmar). And if anyone can think of the cloak thats the same patter it would be a nice thing for our new members who have no chance of getting the original (im sure there arent like 100 recepies laying round in the server :P).

Would be nice if it was moved to foro rep trader .....

Torahammas does not drop the cloak, only a tuft of his hair which is one of the ingredients for his cloak. That said it is certainly not easy to get one and if you are trying to use it as a kin cloak (OP) you certainly have your work cut out. It took my 75 hunter 25 minutes to solo him at 75 and he got the cloak recipie when he was level 43. I have a 57 rune keeper who tried twice and so his backside very quickly on both occasions. I see no reason why it should be in the store as that would really take away from those who have managed to better the mammoth.

How about a Heat Seeking Arrow for the Hunter, specifically for Ettenmoors

Torahammas' Cloak is not available in either the game store* nor the Forochel rep vendors. The recipe drops only from Forochel mobs and is single-use as well**. Then the two necessary ingredients, Torahammas' Tuft and a beryl shard, drop from the big mammoth himself (he has a long respawn rate, I think); of course, there are plenty of rares around Forochel that also drop the beryl shard.

I've seen the recipe on AH on occasion as well as the tuft, and have crafted the cloak every so often to sell; I actually have a small collection of tufts in my vault because Torahammas is easy for a captain to solo at 75, but getting the random recipe drop is another matter... It's a classy cloak for cosmetic purposes, even if the stats aren't the greatest.

Fortunately, once someone does get the cloak for the kinship, you can put it in your wardrobe without binding it, and just pass it on.

*Edit: I only looked at the store cloaks, but it seems the one-shot recipe itself is in the store. See below.

**Edit: Seems with the recipe drop changes the tables were updated to be broader; see below. Still doesn't help with rarity, though, knowing how the RNG works...

You'll get a cloak with the exact same look from a quest (I think it was killing the bug queen) in the rushgore/great river. Cloak is bound though

My advice would be to watch the AH and buy every tier 5 (master) tailor scroll you can find.

Yup. What others said above. Just watch the auction house. I wouldnt buy unopened scroll cases, though. Just do a search on Torahamas any time you are logged in. The Recipe and the Tuft will pop up eventually. Probably in a few days if not there the first time you search.

I am fairly sure I got the recipe from an instance, although I don't remember which instance as it was a while ago. You alse get a quest reward in the Great River area that has the same appearance, but you can't dye it (unless I did something wrong).

It's called Cloak of Honour Regained, and it is not dyable.

Go ye with the entire kindred to the place called Sarnur in Ered Luin, and slaughter ye all the mobs there. They drop em fairly regularly, and have some nice deeds. Zeal n such. Just bring Ancient Dwarfmake damage, else, level 75 or not, you'll not get past the upper levels. Deeper down everything has 95% resistance to other stuff.

The level 50 areas of the Barrow Downs, if they still exist, might also have the drop.

Thank you for your suggestions . I see no solution that just....buying all the recepie scrolls in AH :P. Ill do that for a test at least to see the drop rate or the Torahamas recepie. As for puting it in cosmetic, some members are f2p and we also prefer each to have one so they can change their cosmetics as they wish. Maybe ill start a pettition to ask to be put in the Forochel Rep Vendor. Ill do that now.

If you find the recipes on AH you could always try sending the vendor an ingame mail to see if they remember where it dropped. The more areas you know it drops the better your chances of finding them. I'm pretty sure I've picked up the recipe off mobs outside Forochel in the past, I think it's more level related than area but not 100% sure. I've not picked up a recipe for it for a long long time but that might be because I don't have alts of the appropriate level or have played in the appropriate levels for some while.

I know I have 3 that have been sitting in my vault but unfortunately we are on different servers.

Personally I think it's kinda cool to actually keep an item somewhat rare in Lotro. Being able to just pick this recipe up whenever you want from a rep vendor seems pretty lame. That being said, run Sarnur, CD, or Urugarth and you'll probably see it drop.

It seems it doesnt drop as a separate item anymore.....you all are right but that was the situation long ago when rare recepies dropped from mobs. Now it seems to be on a shared drop table from a tier 5 recepie case. Which makes it not rare but just random. Gona see if it even still drops from em. Used to see them in AH before. Need to see whats the situation. Anyhow all cases i opened so far (i farm rep items in angmar and it used to drop there once every like 100 mobs or even more often?) dropped various light and medium recepies but no tora cloak. In the past when it dropped people kept it. Now with the scrolls 90% just delete recepie boxes from bags when they drop since they are more or less useless. Id like it to just drop from torahamass himself, that would make sense ))

This is the key point - you just need one cloak made and unbound, which could be handed around into wardrobe of each member, as long as nobody equips the cloak which would make it useless for that purpose.

As long as your new members understand that point, not everybody needs his/her own cloak.

For anyone >55 it would be a purely cosmetic outfit item anyway.

In fact, I have an unbound cloak in vault, but I'm also on a different server

    Cheers,

Sorry Landro, but a year ago, after one of your kinnies argued on global that the Torahammas Cloak should be reserved exclusively for your kin since you chose it as "official" apparel, and that in other games players allegedly honor this, I think we all threw away our recipes

Seeing as you've got a bunch of potential solutions in, I figured I'd take the opportunity to mock y... Errr, point out your error: The Kin of your Cloak. Your cloak is in a kinship? It hangs around in cloakrooms discussing them funny legged things with other cloaks? It has aspirations of solo'ing the Rift? Discusses possibilities for inventing the electric iron using Middle-Earth technology?

    ...

That is all... I'll get me coat... Errr... Cloak.

Heh, up until now I didn't remember where that recipe came from. I have a few extras in my vault.

On another note, I noticed recently that I was able to drag a piece of equipment (not cosmetic item) directly from my bag to a cosmetic slot, without having to put it in the wardrobe. I know it used to be that you had to put equpiment in the wardrobe before you could use it cosmetically. I don't know if this is a perk for vips or just a recent change, but it might be a solution for you to simply put one of the cloaks in your kinhouse storage. I don't know if you can do this with an unbound item though.

The recipe for this cloak IS in the lotro store. I am looking at it right now. You have to be a tailor with Tier 5 - Master crafting ability to see it. Either search for "Torahamma" or go to Crafting>Recipes>Tailor>Tier 5 - Master. 240 TP

The only way to add a binding item to the cosmetic slot from your bags is to bind it first, and it's always been this way--this precludes underleveled toons, wrong classes, etc., and thus the item cannot be shared among toons, which is the biggest advantage of the wardrobe (binding-but-unbound things can be added there). And since bag-to-cosmetic-slot requires binding, that also means it can't be stored in any housing chest.

If Turbine allowed binding but unbound cosmetic usage direct from one's bags, then that removes much of the exclusivity of the wardrobe, which is also a very popular store purchase. I highly doubt Turbine would want to cut into their own profits this way.

240 TP--somewhat hefty. I don't see any fine print about it being BoA, interestingly (I had assumed all items crafted from store recipes are BoA to the account/toon), so that might work if someone is willing to cough up the 240 TP and ensure that anyone in the kinship using it in their wardrobe (again, cannot be outfitted from the bags) doesn't accidentally bind it.

The recipe is not the problem, I should have a few of them in stock, they are random drops. Also by killing the bug guy you get the component to craft it.
I do think we have a few cloaks on one of our storage chars, since these days no one wants to buy this cloak.

It's not bind on acquire, so why not have one person make it and keep it unbound. Then, share it with your kinmates, let them drag it to their wardrobe, then give it back to the original person. Done deal.

Never mind the fact that I just noticed several people saying the same thing. Will teach me to read all the posts in a thread before posting...
