dont quite understand what your trying to say here, mithril edition is only available as a physical hard copy. there are also still copys of MoM and SoA arround if your lucky to find a copy, the only thing which has ever realy been digital only are the expansions.. except for MoM which is the exception

Some days ago there was a digital download option. So I guess its gone now, any confirms it? Could you buy the box and ask em to give u the key only?

some online stores will sell you the key only and bin the box\disk\codes and charge the same full price for the code only. you have no comeback if the code the seller emails you does not work... you cant go back to the seller and say the code does not work, are you sure you typed it correctly because they no longer have the box with the code

but imho you use these services at your own risk and your realy defeating the point of mithril edition which is to give you the disk to install from and the other goodies in the box

if you want the codes only you may just as well buy some TP then use them to buy the path of the fellowship quest pack

You do notice that I m talking about GAMESTOP right? - and they had a digital download

I am just asking if anyone also noticed that the digital option disappeared.

ahh i thought you were saying that youve seen the mithril edition in gamestop and that the game was no longer available as digital only

As the digital download option from gamestop disappeared, does anyone know if I can simply buy regularly and ask for only the cdkey to be delivered from them?

Forgive me if I have misunderstood... but didn't they publish the Mithril edition in order to allow folks who wanted a physical disk to get one? Before it came out, the last time LotRO had been published on atoms was 2008.

I suppose you could get the Steam bundle if you want to buy a package of quest packs. Or the Isenguard expansion in one of its forms. Or the Rohan HEROIC edition pre-order. You have digital-only options other than the Mithril edition.

If you just want to play LotRO, you don't need to buy anything. You can download the game client from this site and play and never buy any package.

There is not unfortunately, I confirmed it both on their website and I asked a friend of mine that works there and he said they don't have the digital one in their system any longer. He doesn't know why they don't carry the digital only version any longer though.



As not to create a new thread regarding the Mithril Edition, I'd like a minor threadjack if you don't mind.

Is it possible to redeem the Mithril edition if I already have all the expansions including Rohan? I want to get it because it's the same price as 2000 Turbine points, and it comes with an exclusive mount.

Yes. When I added the Mithril Edition I already had all the expansions up through Isengard (not Rohan since it wasn't available yet at the time, but that wouldn't be relevant to the Mithril Edition) plus all other quest packs from my VIP subscription. I got the Mithril Edition just for the TP and horse.

Impulse still has it. Do a search for "Mithril" and it'll be the only result.

Note to anyone that gets it - when you download it using Impulse, it seems to install the game all over again in whatever directory you have setup for Impulse downloads. But your original install will still work - at least I assume until you try to access the newer content.

I highly recommend new players get at least a month of VIP and this. You're really set with a lot of content if you do.
