TGI Friday Forecast: More Coffee, Tea, and Busy, Busy, Busy!
Ok, that title makes total non-sense.....
Hello Landrovalrim!
Actually the title does make sense to me, but more on that later. First....hello again, it's me back from the shadows. I've been keeping an eye on the comings and goings of the coffeehouse, but I've not really taken the time to update you on what's happening in my life...mostly because the daily status has been changing faster than a confused cuttlefish these last few months!
But all that changed yesterday. I drove up to Seattle, Mountlake Terrace to be exact, and signed the lease papers on my new apartment! I'll be moving sometime on or about August 1st. So I will be much closer to Eledhwe, Slammy, Alditha and Garaf. I'm looking very much forward to that!
As to the other pertinent information:
- no, I still don't have a job, but now I know where to concentrate my job search efforts.
- no, Eledhwe and I are not going to PAX because I totally forgot to check on tickets. But now that I will be in the general area of that event, I am all about getting the Coffee Crew PNW Division together again!
- no, I have not sold my house yet. Call to real estate agent in 3...2...1...
- yes, big garage sale planned for tomorrow, come rain or shine. And probably one every weekend for the next four weeks. That is the busy, busy, busy part....
I hope everyone has a great Friday. Happy Canada Day weekend to my Northern friends and neighbors!. Now...where did I put that packing tape?
*looks around for evil tape dispensing monster....*

Well well,..look what the Warg dragged in!
Good to hear from you! Congratz on your new apartment and hope to definitely see you for a PNW dinner around Pax time at least!
Welby, am I to understand that you will be attending PAX West this year?
...wait for it....
SQUEEEEE!!!!!!
I am so into the Cheesecake Factory. Or, if you would like to experience a new definitition of the term 'finger food'...... Ladies and GentleHobbits.....may I introduce you to.....
The Crab Pot! Where utensils...and for that matter dinnerware...are entirely optional!
The next good news of the day, I just got off the phone with the real estate agent who is meeting with me on Monday, and apparently the housing prices in my range have gone up during my self-imposed period of procrastination. So I might be able to stop snorkling and perch upon the baby atoll that just cropped up beneath my feet! Yippee!
Sense is always optional. Heck, I can't remember the last coherent title I made. ...Though that's assuming that I ever made one....
Congrats on securing a new domicile! That'll put you just a couple hours to the south. ^^ I think we're still trying to work out the details/risks of me getting down to PAX and not screwing up the whole immigration thing. I think we're going to give it a shot though. So hopefully we'll see you around then if not around a house warming or hitchery situation.

Good to hear from you Lorindah! and gratz on the positive changes.
I'm all for a PNW PAX Party but there are a few bits of info that might be relevant to this plan:
- Friday night usually has events going until 02:00 (on Saturday morning) if anyone's interested in concerts or the tournaments
- If (and I rather hope they do) Turbine does what they did last year they'll be throwing their own shindig at the GameWorks Friday night. Well worth attending.
- The Cheesecake Factory is smack across the street from the convention hall. I don't think we ever looked at it after 16:00 and didn't see a line coming out the doors and heading at least half-way down the block. It seems to be a fairly slow line, even for PAX standards.
I could be wrong but I think we were all planning to arrive a day or two ahead of time, or maybe leaving a day or two after. If so, we can meet up on Thursday somewhere. By then we'll have the schedule (which won't be out till two weeks before PAX) and we can plan any further meet-ups (like during long lines) and we'll know if Turbine is tossing their shindig. If nothing else, the line to get into the expo hall Friday morning (generally starts forming around 05:00, they open the doors at 10:00) would be a grand time for us to co-mingle for a few hours. We would need to arrange a meet-up place before the queue room though, and those of us coming from the Great North need to hit up Will Call first for our badges. In any case, we're looking forward to another Summit. =)

Good information. So maybe a Thursday night gathering? or a Saturday morning? Never been to a PAX so any advice is most welcomed. And yes, we should try and firm up plans in advance.
Greets everyone! I hope everyone is well and keeping cool today. This afternoon we are suppose to hit 107 degrees!! Hmmm, about 15 more degrees higher and I'll be thinking I'm back in Bangkok. I sure hope we can get some rain soon.
Hubby is making progress physically, but is now finding that he is experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. He seems to be reliving his bad experiences at the hospital and the horror of his neurosurgeon. He has been prescribed some Adavan, which seems to help at times. So, I hope soon that he can let go of those bad memories and focus more on getting more mobile and healing.
We just got done with his Physical Therapy appointment and that went well. And we're home now, so I figure some comfort food is in order. LOL

Bangkok in the summer is inhuman! Though last time I was there was for Songkran festivals,..a country-wide water fight! Beating the heat was never more fun!
if anyone is looking for me I am in a 'secret' MMO shooting zombies today!
I finished the bracer last night so it's blurb time. Not much of a blurb mind you, but sure...
Bracer the Second
If you don't count the 8 or so hours it took to stitch the pattern plate this time, this bit came together a bit faster than I expected. It's the same as the other bracer (though I can't lace this one up till I get a few other items) but made to fit the right fore-arm. Not really much to say about it other than that I guess, but this time I got some pics of the molding process.
Nice! what kind of wicked cool pattern ya got planned for that?
Part of Tesla Ranger?
/cheers
-Welby
The bracers were meant to be more Dunedain-y but most of the components of the whole get-up could actually work for either or. I'm just about done drafting the next piece but I imagine you can see the whole completed thing at PAX. ^^
Well have a good weekend folks - running out the door to go grab Slamboy - we've got tickets to the BC Lions season opener tonight. They're raising their Grey Cup Championship banner, and Geroy Simon only needs 67 yards to break the all-time CFL receiving record. Should be a fun night of Nathan's hotdogs and gridiron action!
and then its the long weekend!
/rush out the door, humming, one night in bangkok...
I have a potential tenant who will be moving in next week pending the background check. Another potential tenant who seems like a good candidate wants to lool at the smaller room next week. Once i get both of these rented, my mortgage will be covered by their payments and my dimeager disability payment. At that point i can survive on unemployment until school starts and the gi bill kics in, then i can start making headway at paying off my final credit card and getting my savings built back up.
At least the financi situation is looking better.
The doctor i saw two days ago prescribed some pain medication for my knee. It still hasnt arrived. Have to love the efficenciy of government run healthcare.
Time to play with Emma in that backyard. it was 102 here today with a heat index of 110. The irish dont deal with heat like that veru well so she hasnt been allowed outside.
