    Some add'l rookie questions...

    Hello all,

As before, I am still enjoying the game and I am ready to make some purchases soon.

Premium Wallet: It says all new chars get this functionality. Does this mean existing chars will not? Will my current char never have the use of the Premium Wallet?

Other-Than-Mithril Editions: I bought the Mitril Edition and it was a wise choice. Is there any reason to buy the other Editions NOW assuming that it may take me 6-12 months to reach level 40 (very slow player). If another edition gives me something right now that's cool then I would consider it but I think the quest packs are easier to purchase separately.

Crafting: I can see where armorer is a good choice for Heavy and Medium armor capabale classes. What's the best crafting for light armor/cloth wearing classes? Should I pass on Tailor and focus on Cook , for example??? (especially if I will solo a lot)

Horses: Can I trade, give or sell horses? Sometimes an offer says you get a cool new horse with racing stripes... can I give/trade "Old Glue" to another player or sell it at the AH?

1 Month VIP: I keep reading about how you should go VIP for one month for the permanent perks you get as a result. What level should I wait for to do this? Or is it best to do that sooner than later?

Once again, a great game with a great player base - hope it continues... Thanks.

If you buy the Premium Wallet, it applies to your entire account. Existing characters, new characters, any server.

While some will give a few perks (the level 20 cloaks that come with pre-purchase of Rohan Base or Heroic, for instance), whether or not they are worth it is up to you. I would hold off, but I advise you to look at all the options and see if anything is in there you'd want. There is a Steam Starter Pack that may provide some quest zones you don't have yet.

Crafting: I can see where armorer is a good choice for Heavy and Medium armor capabale classes. What's the best crafting for light armor/cloth wearing classes? Should I pass on Tailor and focus on Cook , for example??? (especially if I will solo a lot)
If you solo alot and are new to the game, maybe Explorer? You get both gathering skills (Prospector, Forester) and Tailor, which goes well with Forester for light armor classes if you want to make a few pieces yourself.

Horses: Can I trade, give or sell horses? Sometimes an offer says you get a cool new horse with racing stripes... can I give/trade "Old Glue" to another player or sell it at the AH?
Mounts are learned as skills, so they can not be sold or traded. Sorry. You are stuck with Old Glue forever.

1 Month VIP: I keep reading about how you should go VIP for one month for the permanent perks you get as a result. What level should I wait for to do this? Or is it best to do that sooner than later?
Most suggestions I have read say to wait until you have all your characters up to at least 20. Mainly that is because as a VIP you can take a quest at 20 to earn your riding skill rather than buy it for 95TP. If you already bought that skill, I'd say wait at least until you are through the Lone-lands and approaching level 30. Unless you really want some of the perks (especially the unlocking of bags 4 and 5 on your character), you don't gain all that much before then. (Being VIP does get you 500TP/month, though, which can be nice for picking up a quest pack when you drop back to Premium.)

Welcome to Middle-earth and I hope you have fun.

Premium wallet - once you purchase it it will apply to your whole account. I love it - worth every TP and it saves me a ton of inventory space.

Research the editions and see what looks like the best deal for you - it will be different from player to player.

I'd recommend an Explorer for crafting - especially if you run solo and with only one toon. You can gather ore and wood and as a tailor you can make some nice light armor pieces. I run solo a lot and my first toon was an explorer - worked out pretty well.

You keep mounts for good. Play long enough and you'll end up with a whole collection of steeds. Means you can match them to your mood. And "Old Glue" will have some stable friends.

I went VIP for a month when I got close to level 20. It's worth doing VIP for a month to get the riding skill quest, unlock the extra bags of storage and to lift your gold cap. Running around without a horse after level 20 just gets tedious. If you have more than one toon - make sure you can get them to 20 within that month. It was worth it to me for the removal of the gold cap and the extra bags - I haul around a lot of stuff.

Enjoy the game. Nothing wrong with being a slow leveler. I've been playing since last August and my highest toon is a 62 (almost 63). Slow and steady. Enjoy!

horses are available to own once youve left the starter instance and recieved (iirc) the novice title which be awarded as part of the exit package from an npc near where you first arrived in the main world

f2p need to buy the riding skill from the store for iirc 95tp
then head to hengstacar (or how ever you spell it) farm and buy a horse for about 400\500 silver, if your F2P do not buy the 200 silver starter horse this is only rideable by ViP and is also slower than a regular horse.
you can also buy horses from the store

you can also hire a horse from a stable which will take you from A>B
its also possible to buy a short term self controlled horse from the TP store

ViP earn the riding skill free at level 20 again at hengstacar farm or they can buy the skill same as F2P

the only class (atm) which can have a pet is a lore master, loremasters pets are not pets as such ie theyre not as dumb as pets you usualy get in other games. theyre more of an ally who protects the loremaster and fights alongside them.
long story short if you want a pet you need to roll a loremaster
