    Noob minstrel here

I know I should not be a noob at level 51 but I would like some help. I want to leave an impression on my hunter friend when we spar. It always gets me tired when we spar and he beats me. I would like some advice for DPS and Heal traiting for a minstrel and also build. Anyone willing to help me??

Trait all red of course for DPS and move lots. If the hunter has to spin lots it can cause him to move slightly and lose focus and with some luck the stun on piercing cry will give you a sec for a quick bolster heal. Nice thing about mini's is the ability to toss out attacks on the move.

First and foremost trait Unrelenting, and at least two other reds. When you fight, if you use your heals, and mobility to your advantage, you should easily beat a hunter.

at 51, you have 5 traits. Go 4 red (I'd suggest Unrelenting, Light in the Dark, Enduring Morale and Armor of Song personally) and 1 blue (ItRS would work best - removes the cooldown and the induction - its so fast it's practically a insta-heal.).

For your legendaries, Cry of the Wizards + 1 one other (doesn't matter which). Make sure you're in warspeech.

During the battle, my main advice is to kite - keep moving and make it tough for him to get a shot off. All mini DPS skills can be used on the move. Take advantage of that.

    Good luck.

    Hi,

Sorry if i state the obvius but i don't know if this is just an alt

    Tactics:
As others have stated: Stay on the move, he can't. (at least not well).

A hunter will need to use skills with quite long inductions, use the time to run through him. Confuses a lot of players as they need to do a full turn (and adds the chance of focus-loss as described above).

If you manage to fire off a piercing with stun right when you pass, you have all time in the world to turn around, fire of a quick heal and then blast everything you have on him from behind. The stress of seeing your morale-bar going down very quick is often enough to make players do mistakes. And if you kite sideways after you turn around you have 50% chance he will turn in the wrong direction so you can stay behind him for quite some time.

    Virtues/Setup:
Treat deep red for this, only self heals needed in a spar.

If you feel that he burns through your heals to fast, consider checking your virtues. Try to get your mitigation up.
Mitigations are often overlooked by newer players (i sure did...), but look at it this way:

consider 2 cases ('a little' simplified...):
    a) Someone has 50% Mitigation (50% of damage done to them) and 2000 morale.
    b) Someone has 0% Mitigation (100% of damage done to them) and 4000 morale.

Now both of those builds would mean you can take 4000 points of damage before you go down. But from a healers point of view they are very different. To heal through those 4000 points of damage you would need to heal 2000 points on build a) and 4000 points on build b)

My Mini sure prefers players of typa a)

I would like to wish you good luck, but to be honest i would like the hunter to have a descent chance in this spar;-)

    Regards
    /T
