Lightbulb Make Forges, Workbenches, ect. household decs

Now i'm not saying as a cosmetic dec, but one that actually works. Say, if when reaching the max rep with the Weaponsmith's guild, you can buy (for several gold) a recipe to make a forge (it would take a lot of ingredients). Then when it's finished, you can put it in a large+ sized outside dec slot. Same with workbenches, libraries, (which would be an inside slot), and all the other cratfting facilities. They could only be built by the profession associated with it (ie woodworkers make workbenches, farmers make farmland, etc). Farmland, of course, would have to be a kin sized slot. For more gold and more ingredients, they could get a superior facility.

Been suggested many times before - Turbine resisted the suggestions because they don't want crafters to abandon the towns. I don't think they've changed their minds on the subject.

Perhaps if the recipe required buying from the LotRO store as well as being max rep standing. Then Turbine gets money. Profit calls, they won't hang up

And when "profit" drops because players will all be in their homes instead of town hubs making newer players feel alone (Ex: Star Wars Galaxies) and prematurely abandon the game, what next?

Give a guy a pound of gold...he'll complain about how heavy it is.

The problem with a number of housing-related suggestions is that they truly don't want for lots of people to spend much time at their houses. The main reasons:
    • There are many hundreds of neighborhoods (and over a thousand on some servers). The more people are at their houses, the more server resources are required to run all those instances.
    • The more people spend time out at hundreds of individual neighborhoods and houses, the fewer will be spending time at the natural social centers for the game. This will make the game feel emptier, make it harder to find groups, etc.
These are not meaningless concerns. In TOR, they have very real problems because so much of the game content is instanced - you can be out in the public areas of many planets and see hardly anyone at all. And of course, more server loading = more lag. We don't really want more of that.

I don't like this idea very much because there is a one hour cooldown to fast travel to housing. And when I craft I need to access the crafting NPC's to buy ingredients, so you would also need them in your house. And there really isn't any room in my house for this. Also crafting is a big reason people head into town. It helps keep towns populated.

The idea might be interesting if it is only available for one profession, you have a forge that you can only use to smelting or to make armours, but not for both and have some time added so that people wouldn't always be using them, it could be something people get around tier 4 with a 15% more time and as your tier advances you make a better one that never reaches the same time the normal ones have. It would only be usable by you and only one per house, a special spot only for this. It would have some use (for example, you go home to store some items and have lots of ore you just smelt it all instead of going to the town, but if you want to make armour or weapons you would have to go there), but still make people use the towns.
The only problem is that, like in most of the things I suggest; unless it can only be bought in the store there won't be any major profit for turbine so I doubt they would ever make them
