    Maxing block parry and evade

Hi guys, besides settings and relics, do you guys use the ward parry and threat block and parry legacies to max bpe on guard? How do you guys reach the maximum of 25% block?

personally, i don't. My block in threat stance with GW up is like 21%. Maxing my block would probably mean sacrificing some vita, or incoming healing, or something like that.

Besides i'd rather put poitns into parry/evade after a certain amount of block... Because of the diminishing returns formula

I'd highly recommend getting the threat stance block/parry legacy and if you can get the gw block/parry legacies too go for it... Although they are major legacies so you'll probably run out of spots unless you get a 5 major belt.

I don't use Guardian's Ward Parry and GW Block legacies. I use the Guardian's THreat block and Parry legacy though, cause without it, GT stance would be with basically no defences at all.

I have maxed 25% block with GW in Threat Stance (with the rating slightly over it, to make up for the difference for higher level mobs in raids). Parry is somewhere at 18-19% with GW and captain's buff. My evade is 5% and I don't feel I need it higher, as evading doesn't unlock any skills.

Maxing block doesn't require sacrificing much of other stats. I have 2260 vitality, 17k morale unbuffed and near 18% incoming healing.

    Easy way to improve your block (and get incoming healing at the same time) is to get following relics;
Extraordinary Setting of Stability: 1300 incoming healing and 260 block/parry/evade
Mysterious Rune of Mending: 1088 incoming healing and 544 block

Also get some good gear that gives block like the Draigoch cloak, Root Guard's Bracelet, Bracelet of Strength's Remembered, the necklace bartered with Orthanc sigil fragments and of course a good shield with block rating, like Strong Battle Shield of Theodred or some of the better ones like Medliamath or Tempered Combat Kite Shield of the Defender.

    Maxing Avoidance

As I wrote in another Thread ( http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...96#post6202596 ) it is possible to get the avoidance-rating very high as Guardian, when you don't have to go for very high morale cause of big hits in Tower of Orthanc.

Everything I wrote in the next lines is buffed in fellowship or raid without Guardians Thread Stance(B/P-rating):

I posted in the Thread an old screenshot(february, the 21st, 2012) in which I maxed block-chance, parry-chance and had a chance of 19,7% to evade and 7,7%-chance for partially evade. Incoming healing was ~21,7%. My morale was at 13 183.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/256/defenced.png/

With other buffs (ministrel, agility food,...) it maybe had be possible to get near the cap, but who cares

That was before the great river-region was released, so today I get a little higher with maxed block/parry and evade at ca. 20%. My incoming healing is 24,9% (0,1% under cap, dwarf), physical and tactical mitigitations are capped.
    Morale is still ~13 000.

Unfortunately, I dont have time to raid a lot, so I don't know exactly the following stats:

In Tower of Ortanc I have to equip more morale. So I get ~20 000+ morale. I pay for it with nearly every other stat:
Blockrating is near the cap, maybe 0,5% under cap. Parry gets between 10% - 15%. Evade sinks really low, maybe between 3% - 5%. Incoming healing is not much loss. Still ~ 23%. Physical and tactical mitigitations are capped for sure.

So it might be possible to cap Block, Parry and Evade, but it is more effective to cap block and parry and get evade on a high level. Except in Tower of Orthanc.

    Now to good avoidance-equip(just avoidance!):

First two good links, the avoidance-stats are higher today, many old screenys
(maybe a little mixed with german, but mostly english):

    http://kdl-hdro.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3582

Good rings are in skirmishes for 12 fellows.
    (for example: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Item:...eaker%27s_Band)

Good wrists are in Galtrev. Reputation needed!
In addition there is one in a skirmish ( http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Item:...ardian_Manacle )
And last but not least there is one in T2- Roots of Fangorn ( http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...49#post6046049 )

Good necklace is in the school or library. Unfortunately I don't know anymore. It has 600+ evade and incoming healing.
In addition, the necklaces, you can exchange for the orthanc fragments(?), are not that bad.

Good pocket is one of the crafted river ones. ~400 on every avoidance-rating.
Then there are some in Dargnagh, pits of isengard and the foundry. The one in the foundry is the best. They all have tactical mitigitation and some avoidance.
    Foundry: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Item:Gold-rimmed_Crystal

Good Earrings are in the library, elendil (one of the annuminas ones) and in the roots of fangorn.

Good Shoulders you can find in the Pits of Isengard ( http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Armour:H%C3%BAranc )
As a bonus you have the chance to get the cloak Sarchol, when you need more tactical mitigitation. But it drops really bad.

There are a lot of good shields with a lot of block-rating.

For sure I forgot some. Others I did not mention cause they are not easy to get.
(School, library and annuminas you will just get into with your kinship, I think. Are not very attractive anymore.)

    But a hint:
    1 might gives +4 block-rating and +2 parry-rating.
    1 agility gives +4 evade-rating and +2 parry-rating.

So it can be an increase in avoidance to stack a little of these, when you have no avoidance-items. In example the Galtrev-Wrist with might and agility gives ~380 to B/P/E.
But in most cases direct avoidance is more than avoidance with might/agility.

Relics can help a lot to get more avoidance. Especially block-rating.

    These which Gomar_Eldar wrote:
[Extraordinary Setting of Stability: 1300 incoming healing and 260 block/parry/evade
Mysterious Rune of Mending: 1088 incoming healing and 544 block]

Additionatly there is a gem with block, might and +10% partially block/parry.

The crafted relic is not that attractive. You can get a little might or agilitiy, but it is not really much. There you should choose , in my opinion, more vitality.

    So, one last hint:
There are two plugins you can use to search better items, but where you get these items, you have to find out yourself. They just list, that the items are in game.
    http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...69-Tulkas.html
(I would recommend Tulkas. Seems more the tool you need)
    http://www.lotrointerface.com/downlo...ompendium.html
(in the compendium is much more, so you will have to get a little into this)

By the way, it is possible to kill the trash-groups and the first boss of the foundry on your one, without buffs as a avoidance guardian. Do not think, that is possible, when you just stack morale, but I do really not know
Do not want to open a discussion about this. Just want to say, both can be better in some situations.

Have fun optimising you avoidance-guardian ( I love my one too )
