Just wondering if I am imagining things but it seems Javelin-toss has been removed as a Level1 starting skill? Just wondering if this is a perma change and if it was officially posted somewhere and I missed it??
Hmm. Don't recall Javelin toss as THAT low, but then,. it has been a long, long, time since my only warden started out. Nowadays I guess it would make sense to plonk it at the same level as the newish assailment stance one is supposed to use for ranged combat anyway?
You must have skipped the tutoriel, an went straight to the intro... so only have 1 weapon, so lack the jav.. either buy 1 from the bowsman or just wait till u do the first class quest with the trainer .

Ahhhhhhhh. Thx Tiboric. Your explanation seems to be on the money as I have just tested it out to be the case.

As someone who is sort of new to LOTRO and someone who is new to being a Warden, I like to conditions my fingers to the keystrokes I need to build a Gambit. I'd like to be able to practice against the trainer while in the game - instead of running out of town looking for a wolf.
Also, in one of the Warden docs, I learned that some people are 'clickers.' Does that mean you can click on one icon and run a complex Gambit? Or do you have to build them with the individual keys? i.e., 1 2 Default to Boot.
Also, and maybe again if you found my post in another part of the forum from yesterday, Does the first key of the gambit set the tone for the rest of the gambit? (On my control key hot keys I have Strike, Shield, Fist, Default) So, if you have a lowly bear to kill, you can start with 1 (strike) and then build up from there getting a highly damaging attack. Or, if you have 4 spiders biting you, you need to be defensive, you would start with a 2 (shield) and then build a less powerful attack from there. Or, if you have the attack under control or you have the take the heat off someone else, you start with a 3 (fist) to draw the aggro (is that short for aggression / aggressive behavior?) away from someone else but not have a very strong attack or defense.
There are others that work some that are exceptions to the rule, but mostly once you start down a particular line the gambits tend to be grouped by effect.
