well i played this gme for a little a loong time ago, i give oportunity again, and i discover this game is very fun, the quest, lore, music, scenary everything is art for me.
I guess I am pretty much in the same category as you cept I had a less than favorable experience so far. Only played for few levels when the game came out, decided to try it free due to Steam. So far there have been some real jerkwads ive run into. Gonna give it a few more days, but not impressed with some of the community ingame. Hoping they were just the minority or bad timing on my part to run into these clowns.

LotRO has a mature, friendly and welcoming community for the most part, of course there are some bad apples here and there
I have been playing on and off for about three years (have tried three servers) and the times that i saw trolls/jerks were so few, that i dont even remember anymore
Here is a tip, RP servers have an even more mature and friendly community than other servers, plus there is an extra set of rules. Laurelin is the official English RP server. Even if you dont like RP, as long as you respect others who do, you will a grant time i think
