Meta-Deed Mondays™

Greetings to my fellow free peoples of Middle Earth!

I'm a bit of a completionist and have found that I'm not the only one, there is great content that isn't as popular as it used to be as its no longer 'endgame'. To encourage more teamwork, extra fellowships and to allow players still levelling to get more experience working in a group (whether someone new or a veteran trying out an alt) I came up with this tagline. The principle is simple, on Mondays run older/alternative fellowship instances. This started as a pure kin event but has gone viral and now is found all over the main userchat channel on Vilya 'Unite'

Most players can benefit from some extra virtue stats, the experience and fun of running with groups they wouldn't normally participate in and we've made some new friends this way. For those F2P people its a way to bag a little extra TP from the deeds associated with the instances, and to those players seeking those elusive +68% speed steeds (like the black nimble goat etc.) is an essential way of completing instance cluster 'Meta-Deeds'.

Meta-Deed Mondays™ running every Monday on Vilya, I personally get involved creating/leading groups between 12:00 and 18:00 servertime - but this is by no means an exclusive event. /joinchannel Unite will get you to the main server userchat channel, post up the tagline (and your proposed instance or intance cluster) and pick up a group! Example:

Meta-Deed Mondays™ - Ori seeks fellows to help defeat the foul spawn of Moria, send /tell if interested!

I could recount tales of five hunters perfectly porcupining packs of pernicity wargs, or an evening spent in the company of six dwarves on the march through Moria with axes bared, tankards brimmed and goblin necks a'plenty to cleave. Instead I'll suggest you hang up your crafting tools, oil your blades and join the call - Meta-Deed Mondays™

The event its great fun, and I've had positive feedback from pretty much everyone who has participated. Its the best way to spend a Monday afternoon/evening/morning* (delete as applicable), and spreading the idea around the servers can only help to encourage more people to share their LORTO experience. Running these instances with often unbalanced character mixes (even if there are a few high level players present) will teach you to use those often overlooked skills to react to unsual situations (ever tried to control a large number of mobs with only CC skills having no tank in the fellowship...).

Feel free to check out the wiki if you're no sure of what Meta-Deeds exist in the game, each has an associated reward and its very satisfying completing every last one....

I'll be found online at the times above on either my Guardian (Orionnar) or my Captain (Orionisson) - send me a /tell or start up a fellowship, and why not brag about your adventures on the forums too! Many of my Kin (Untouchables) will also be involved in groups for the event - you're in safe hands with us. During the Summer Fun 2012 period I'll be participating in as many runs as possible, but even if you don't meet me this time I'll be running Meta-Deed Mondays™ every week.

I would love to join, but I'm working betwen noon and 6pm EST. I have completed the Saviour of Eriador and Saviour of Khazad-dum meta-deeds, but have yet to complete the Saviour of Lothlorien, Tempest of Dol Guldor, In Your Presence, or The Armies of Isengard deeds.

Early last year, one guy was hosting Carn Dum & Urugarth runs every Saturday (it was how I managed to complete the Saviour of Eriador meta-deed). Perhaps someone would be willing to host similar events on a weekend day?

Otherwise, great idea.

Was it really that long ago? Man it sure doesn't feel like it but I sure had a blast running it every week. Finished all those deeds on 2 and half toons I ran it so much. Guess I should start running it again to get it done on that 3rd toon :P

Well let me just say that I love this Idea. I will run CD/URU/BG(6Man) runs anytime someone wants to go. So I guess put me down for those 3 instances on Monday. I can't run them until I get home but heck why not they are a great way to get back into leading. Maybe they will lead me back into something more

Just checking in before we event starts, I generally leave it down to the individuals in each fellowship to determine what content is run, but its an idea to find out if there are specific instance clusters people are looking for (especially for 12 man raids). If you have any requests please post them here.

Sound is Fun , guys what about Crickhollow world has no summer fun event?!

Just finished up with a run through URU and BG(6man). Had a lot of fun with some great people. Kind of reminded me of the old days playing with the VA.

Thanks and I hope your innstances were as fun as the ones I was involved in! Its great to see the event taking a life of its own. I've passed the details of your instances to Celestra. Greetings!

Ori and the Untouchables bring you Meta-Deed Mondays™, this week all participants will be entered into a draw for a steed and a few TP codes courtesy of Summer Fun 2012 and Turbine's Community Specialist Celestrata.

One entry per player so it doesn't matter if you participate in one complete instance or many. The Untouchables will be forming groups on the Unite userchat channel (/joinchannel Unite) on Vilya. As per usual I'll be taking requests for the instances to run, but to reach as many players as possible intend to run more quick 6 man runs tonight, pushing the more involved 12 man ones (BG, OD, Watcher etc.) to next week.

My thanks to everyone who participates every week, you guys make Meta-Deed Mondays™ as much fun as they are!

I know we have scheduled server downtime today which is eating into our runs, as per usual I'll online until around 6pm /servertime - my Kinsmen will most likely continue beyond this point so no-one misses out.

Angela - unfortunately the event is being run on Vilya server, I notice your profile is for Winfola. But that's not stopping you from starting your own Meta-Deed Monday instances on your server too! The more the merrier!
