So... a pair of former friends of mine have admitted to multi-boxing freepside for the purpose of crafting/afk crafting since they've "never had a kin that helped them", for their own personal benefit in doing so. They were also doing this in order to get access to more housing, including deluxe houses and 3 seperate kin-houses for their toons.
One of them admitted to bot use to that end as well. I have screenshots...
Same shiz as SSD/Star did with whomever else it was etc etc etc in a sense with the F2P reaver farming...
I.e. they're too lazy and selfish to play this game. This goes waaaaaay beyond being a 'raid baby' or playstyles, etc....
I find the freepside situation more low-brow though as it affects way more than just the Moors. Imagine what this is doing to inflate AH prices for this/that... and with a given set of accounts the ability to 'farm/craft' for gold to the point that peeps have so much gold that spending 500g on something isn't worth a second thought.. especially for star crystals, sets of draigoch scales, etc etc.
Wondering why ya'll can't get a decent deal on end-game stuff based on your impatience?? Check this stuff first. Especially guys that win Draigoch scales and not 10 minutes later post it on the AH or on glff.. It ain't hard to notice you screwballs.
I've a feeling this ain't going away anytime soon either, and this is just another way of cheating/farming for personal gain, as well as providing their main toon with scrolls, tokens, and both foodstuffs for the Moors, and also for PvE raids/instances/6man/3mans... There's being self-sufficient and then there's just flat out laziness/selfishness/turning an MMO into a single-player experience and then expecting people to group with you..
Please re-read the part about turning this MMO into a single-player experience... it's just kinda important. By like... a lot.
This account is my only one. If I craft something on one of my toons I do so actively while sitting in the chair.. meaning I don't have another account/toon doing something else, be it leveling, crafting, or being in the Moors. If I afk craft it's when I'm about to pass out or get some sleep or having a smoke or otherwise being indisposed.. which will eventually time out or my crafting item breaks. Regardles.. it's still my only account and only toon online at a given moment in time.
I *EARN* what I keep. What in the blue hell ever happened to that?? Or pride?
And damnit if I don't think I've mentioned this before but it seems awful likely that I did...
You can report them, and should do so Sae. I just doubt Turbine will do much . Whoever it was that said, "cheaters never prosper" obviously never played an mmo.

2. Turbine supports people having multiple accounts,
3. What is wrong with going AFK when you are crafting? There is a /afk tag and "make all button" so clearly turbine doesnt think people will sit around staring at thir characters tamping ingots
Wait, is what he is referring to crafters being afk while crafting? If so then I am really confuzzled. I was assuming from the post that he had found people who had found a way to cheat and get crafting items without working for them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with setting your crafter working, and stepping away to make a snack.

So ya'll don't think multi-boxing and crafting on multiple accounts at the same time to feed your main account isn't cheating? Turbine might not think so, but it is verrrrrrrry under-handed.
If you crafted on just one account, you'd either sit there and actually craft or you'd /afk craft.. which is fine. But using multiple accounts gives you the advantage of accelerated play. You could craft two, three, four, or however many times faster.. meanwhile your main toon could be doing something else, like raiding, moors play, etc.
And yet here all of ya'll were screaming n yelling about someone multi-boxing and feeding a row of F2P reavers to their main toons for personal gain. That's why this thread is here. I'm pretty certain that these individuals thought about doing that as well.
How are these situations different? They aren't IMO. It's interesting to see that some of ya'll think it is different.
And Pouncy, you mentioned having two accounts. Are you signed into both of them at the same time?

They are very different. Nobody gives two &&&&s about crafting on multiple accounts. Do you honestly think this gives them an unfair advantage?
Only thing I would take a dim view on would be multiboxing a freep and creep to feed each other glory/infamy. But even that isn't a TOS violation. Just poor sportsmanship, IMO.

I guess I can understand what you are saying, but Crafting is such a mind numbing, soul destroying snoozfest that I have a hard time kicking in the Angry-O-Meter at someone looking to reduce it. IMO the only game to even remotely get crafting correct was SWTOR. Expecting the *epic hero* to stand around smelting copper or chopping up wood is pretty silly.
Xnoy - rank something or other Warg, and Wyver - rank mango fiesta delight Defiler

I have no problem with multiple accounts to craft. I feel like the time taken to process a stack of ore, etc is a form of punishment. (Hence my bags full of components) To be able to do something constructive while that happens seems reasonable to me. I doubt it would make you rich. At level cap I can turn gold faster killing things than crafting these days (I may be doing it wrong) anyway.
Multi-boxing to gain reknown/Infamy is cheating and cheap. I little use for those who engage in it. The two uses of multi-boxing are very different from my perspective.

They really aren't that different. The grind for rank can be and is seen as punishment for many players, especially creeps (pre-store, anyways).
I can see why somebody might be upset by either. I think Saellyn is trying to make a point, and it's fairly valid.

I guess I see crafting as an interesting, but very minor, side note to the PvE game. I'd liken it to farming in the delving or harvesting the dwarf camp for beards creepside. The battle for Reknown/Infamy and comms against an intelligent opponent is the whole game in the Moors. Rank in the moors conveys a significant benefit to the toon. To my mind the two aren't equivalent. I think people of good will can disagree with me on this point, but that's the way I happen to see it.
People who Multi-box to gain ranks are cow-eyed, whey-faced, weenie-scouts who ought to go back to emoting at strangers in Bree and leave the Moors to the real players. (First ever use of Weenie Scout on the LOTRO forums! Point Snagrot!)
