Of late I have found myself compelled to start sticking up for Withywindle server after I saw something that actually upset me, as if one of my close friends had been attacked.
I have been playing LOTRO quite contentedly on Withywindle since I had the great fortune of finding the game in March 2011.
There are soooo many ways of playing LOTRO, which is great.
I think that it is now about time that any personal attacks on people, whether it be ingame on Global chat, OOC chat, or in these Forums is put to a STOP.
People are Individuals and will play the game as they see fit.
Individuals who play this game are just that, individuals--people are different and will have different opinions on many, many subjects.
Stop the ranting and raving at folks, stop the blaming, stop the hating, and above all STOP blatant slanging matches.
Everyone will have and is entitled to their own opinions. That will never change.
For someone new to the game (who has a hellovalot more to worry about than how to batter someone in a sparring contest eg--many others examples) the last thing that they want to see is a whole heap of 'rubbish' going on in global or whatver other channel, forum etc.
And, indeed, people that are not new to the game are sick to the back teeth of constant backstabbing, griping and whining that a 'minority' of individuals continue to do.
Basically it boils down to the fact that you that are doing this--are BULLIES.
Stop the Bullying - get on with the game in hand--if you are 'that' ADVANCED in LOTRO and are 'BORED' then 'DONT TELL people what to do' - but come down from your 'perches' and help lower levels to understand the game more.
Afterall if they enjoy the beginning of the game and have 'good' experiances when they first start--then they are more likely to stay in the future.
Treat others with Respect and you will earn Respect back.
It is not rocket science, manners cost nothing but the rewards can be considerable.
This of course is MY opinion for which I am entitled to.
I think our forums need some summer cleaning lol. And maybe our childish behaviour (yes yes 50% is mine i know) is actually giving the poor forum monsters headaches. I promise ill behave if others behave to
I knew Mattbell was wasting his time posting on here, because anyone who would have taken notice doesn't frequent these forums and those that do are not the type to care anyway!

p.s. Lets get a bit more serious... forums are a place of both being helpful and having arguments. I know we would all love a democratic discussion where the worst ur "opponent" would say is "i disagree with ur claim" but get over it, we are humans and discussions can always get out of hand, its not bad, its not harmful, it does not destroy our precious server. And really i hardly think anyone new to server (or old) will flee and transfer or stop playing because landrovas has an argument with zrinko. Chances are he/she will grab a beer and some pop-corn to have fun

Btw, you people should use that bit of salt and go to the action instead of writing pointless, headless, unimportant and &&&&&&&& threads. What this subforum should be is, pvmp tactics, analysis of battles, some pics threads from moors, class related conversations etc. Instead of this, we have same 5-6 people writing, well, pointless, headless, unimportant and &&&&&&&& threads.

PvMP has its own Subforum,so do the Kinships and the Trade Affairs..
Because the server has its roots in the EU english isnt going to always be the first language. That will lead to crossed wires and missed meanings.
To some whats being said will come across as banter between people that know each other. I think this applies to a lot of what is usually said in chat, although at times it will be balancing on a knife edge.
Other things date back further and revolve a bit more around one ego or another rubbing folk up the wrong way and being reacted to, this can be done without intent. The internet being what it is tends to encourage the latter to linger longer than it might out in the real world and you will find it usually is the rarer occurance. It just stands out for being the beer and popcorn moment it might evolve into.
Now before anyone jumps on me with the suggestion that I've called anyone egotistical, I've not. I've just used the term ego to refer to the freudian sense of self rather than anything else.
I can't see anything in what follows that has any serious bearing on what you say, or attempts to discuss it. Just a lot of childish comic patter - great pity that a serious thread should be treated in this way.

After reading this thread I thought about returning to World of Warcraft to enjoy a more mature and friendlier bunch of people.

Matt's thread served its purpose and did its job 100%. The bickering stopped. What you read above and in another thread are just venting and tries to turn some upset eyebrows into smiles. All involved in the bickering (well at least me) understood the situation. So no harm in some haha.
But if anyone wants we can go back to dark revolted posts. But i think thats just what the OP doesnt wish . The other posts are more or less inside jokes between forum regulars :P. Some might not find em funny at all but they are
