it depends on whiche trait line you are useing and how much mastery/crit u have to begin with (cos of diminishing retruns)
i'm mostly fire traited while dps'ing so i go for a more mastery heavy build:
- 31k mastery
- 5.5k crit
- 5.7k finesse
for lightning you want to have more crit so i build my LIs to give me more crit:
- 29k mastery
- 8k crit
- 4k finesse
i dont know the neames of the relics but there is a setting with about 500 crit and 7.5% dev magnitude as well as some gems with 500 ish crit on them, the crafted relics also have about 500 crit
its pretty much the same for mastery relics, just have a look at the melding panel and see for yourself
what relics shud i use for max dps. idont have the old t8 relcs. shud igo for more crit or tact masteri.
Try a 3rd grade spelling class first. After that, find your nearest fortune-teller. Pay her, and she'll divine the "relics u shud use." If you pay her enough, she'll slot them, level your LI, and play your toon for you too!
While you burn at the stake, I dance with the flames. I take what you love and leave you in tears. I am relentless, unpredictable, and waiting for your last breath.
Fire: You need to pump mastery first of all, crit. is secondary!
Setting: Calenard Setting of Truth (t8)
25 Will, 568 Mastery
Gem: Great River Gem of Charity (t8)
168 tact. mit., 730 mastery, 263 power
or the old t8 (most likely not an option)
Rune: Great River Rune of Wisdom (t8)
-2,5% attack duration, 568 evade, 26 will
Lightning: You need to pump crit., mastery is secondary!
I am not certain about the Gem or Setting, there are a lot of options to maximize your crit, but you want to loose as little mastery as possible to achieve a capped crit. rating. The rune however i believe is the same for both builds, or should be.
Why would you run the -AD runes in a fire setup? AFAIK they only affect post-animation delays and not inductions so are infinitely more useful for a lightning RK than for fire. I have the mastery runes.
There is an animation after FR and MF. FR being the longest animation of them.
With the DR after 30k mastery, the difference in the two runes in actual damage is so little that the -5% attack duration is much more beneficial than 500 mastery. It is a lot more important for a lightning RK than a fire RK, i have not contradicted that. Though that still does not mean that attack duration is more beneficial than mastery for a fire RK. I have already explained this in another thread. I have also made a few calculations, parsed versus, so attack duration is most certainly better than mastery for end game.
Can you link to it, or point me in the right direction? Also, from what I understand there are no diminishing returns on mastery other than diminishing returns of scale, which aren't really *that* bad. I just feel like so much fire DPS time is spent in inductions that the mastery ones would win, so I'd like to see something to convince me otherwise (especially if your parses are dummy parses, which, due to DoT wipes, would benefit more from quicker FR spam than higher ticking dots).
I sit around 27 or 28k mastery 9.6k crit, im using the settings of endings with 7.5% devastates and 500+ crit as well as the gems with +25vit and 500+ crit on them, runes i use the westfold runes of power for more tact mastery, im a lightning rk. the rune of 2 trees was nice and all when i lacked morale in my build, really i don't use morale gear anymore, vit is prefered but since i can hit 6-7k morale without using them i dropped em in favor of higher dps.
Currently I'm running with 2 "true rune of te two trees" runes on my stone an satchel. Are the -2,5% attack duration runes a significant buff to the dps of a lightning rk?
They are by far the most significant dps increase for a Lightning RK out of all the settings/gems/runes available. There's a post somewhere with evidence of a minimum 5.5% DPS increase using two of them. The downside of course is your morale tends to plumet.
