Thread: New Emote

Am I the only one who wishes there was a /drawweapon emote, or something like that? I'm not a Role Player, but i still don't like standing in an instance, with all the NPC's weapons drawn, and me standing up perfectly straight, weapon in it's sheaf, like an idiot.

Well there is the Hidden emote deeds....
If you get someone to salute you 100 times limit 5 at a time....
You earn the sword salute emote which is a drawn sword raised in salute.

I just made a few new characters and when doing the elf intro instance I thought that exact same thing.

"Why am I just standing here...?"

Maybe like a toggle emote that puts you in your combat stance, similar to the walk/run toggle?

IIRC, the verb in Asheron's Call was /brandish.

Way back at launch there used to be a hot key to draw/sheath equiped weapons. I'm not entirely sure why it was removed, but I do remember it cause no end of problems as you did not always see yourself as others see you.

Come to think of it, that might have been why. :P

So I doubt they'll bring it back but I do like the suggestion.

since Turbine is in charge of Lotro, nothing at all has happened to the role play szene. i would like to suggest some improvements to existing emotes to make roleplay more attractice again.

First of all I think that one should be able to use some emotes while they are in a different emote - e.g. when you are sittung you should be able to play musik or smoke or laugh without leavin your sitting position, it's quite annoying to have to sit down over and over again and not to be able for example to sit around the campfire and make musik without everyone standing.

Sitting is also an emote that could be improved quite a lot: It's very difficult to sit on down on a chair or a bench. There are some solutions to this problem. firstly there could be emotes such as sit(floor), sit(chair), etc. which recognice the item you want to sit on. secondly chairs, benches, etc could be programmed as usable items as there are allready many of them, when you use it, you sit on it...

I'd be really glad if Roleplay became a little more important again.

I know we can gain/buy the swordsalute, but it's 'just' salute. It would certainly add possibilities to rping if you could have your weapon bared...

Yeah, I do alot of instances where all the Goodies and Baddies have their weapons drawn, and I'm standin there like I'm a Pacifist!

I would recommend using the /charge emote, by the time your character has stopped screaming out a war cry the enemies should appear and your character should have his weapon drawn

But none the less... I do want this emote too
