Any /command for Ambient light option?

Hello. I have a problem in dark places and I increase Ambient Light to maximum cause my eyes getting tired very quickly. I do this often though, every time is night and day. So is there any command in game to do this?I would like to make a shortcut with it to switch faster

Pretty sure there is under the character selection page - option. Might be called like "brightness" but that should be it's function

Alt + F10 is a toggle that allows you to turn a torch off and on.

As to Lorenzio's answer it's a slider for Brightness found in Options/Graphics.

thanks :P I know there is in options..there is an option in graphics "Ambient Light" and that is doing the job :P I was just wandering if there was a way to do it without entering to options

Edit: alt+F10 does nothing for me and I haven't change any keybinds

I actually forgot about seeing the Torch command. I'll have to check it out. In most cases I would think altering Brightness would spoil the intended effect anyway. Unless you have a universal monitor issue that needs help.

And check to see that the keybind hasn't been otherwise disabled

But only when it is night by the in-game clock. Even if you're in the darkest depths of Moria, if it's daytime outside, Alt-F10 won't work.

There's Brightness, Ambient Light, and Gamma, all on the same sub-menu. Gamma's the most effective. And yes, it's a bore to have to go into Options and move it back and forth every couple of hours. But that's the only way I know of doing it.

did you do Alt+F10 in daylight or at night/in a cave? the torch doesn't really show up in the daytime, so it makes it difficult to see if it did anything.

You have to use the options. There is no keyboard commands to adjust the lighting level. There is a Torch key bind. It only lights up a small area around your character. Torches can not be used in all of Middle Earth.

If my memory is correct. The Torch is a game launch feature. It was discontinued with the Mines of Moria expansion in 2008. The replacement is the options especially the Ambient Light Slider. I do not believe Turbine ever took the Torch functionality out of the game.

I have used anything except the Sliders since Mines of Moria launched.

I've never really tried to alter those setting myself. I guess I figure if the quest designers wanted you to be in the dark it was their intent you deal with it and thrash your way through the experience with difficulty seeing. Tabbing frequently still works though for targeting hard to see crits

I definitely have old people eyes too. And my 3 year old dv7 wide screen laptop still looks ok under all conditions

thank you all for answering..I think I was trying to use the torch on daytime and thats why it didn't worked. As for the rest, I also like the dark places and it adds up a lot to the atmosphere of the place..however after some time my eyes are in pain. My monitor is very good and new, I have an IPS Dell monitor. It is me that have the problem :P So for health reasons I max out the ambient light to help me.

well I suppose I have to go to options every time for this :P but at least I will no longer wondering if there is a command :P

This situation is one of the problems with trying to use the torch in Moria. You can only turn it on when the sun is down. It is always dark in Moria.

The Torch works on the Shadows of Angmar landscape. Not very useful underground. Not very useful in dark landscape areas like some forests. Why you are not allowed to have the Torch all the time? No idea

Oh, the alt-F10 effect still works. IF it is daytime, AND IF you are not doing session play as a Horse.

When I was questing in Moria I had to shift the gamma lighter just to see anything at all. On my rig it was dark on dark. When I exited Moria to Lothlorien I had to shift the gamma back down.

    Suggestion:
My graphics card allows me to make "presets" of graphics settings. I made one preset "MoriaGamma" and another "NormalGamma". I would use the graphics card setup outside of LOTRO program to shift the gamma as needed. This way I didn't have to push the LOTRO settings about and I had more choices about what settings to change.
