Whenever I target something, whether it's an enemy, mailbox, or friendly NPC, my movement is thrown off. All of my movements are now focused on whatever I'm targeting and it's extremely annoying and makes it hard to concentrate on battles. I tried looking in the options but couldn't find anything that helped. Is there anything I can do to keep movement normal even when I target something? Or is this something I need to learn to deal with?
Oh believe me, you're not the first nor will you be the last to have this problem. I suppose the feature has its uses but I've never personally utilised it aside from when I first discovered it.
Looks kinda weird when I try and move around the target.
That being said, the Lock Camera To Target ability does have its occasional uses. Deed grinding among mixed mobs, locating mobs/nodes in thick underbrush, and so on. Just hit TAB, hit X, ???, and PROFIT as many times as needed.
Also, for PvMP, activating the (not actual name) Auto-Target Enemy Attacking Me option and hitting X whenever you take surprise bits of damage helps you figure out who just killed you. Not like you can do anything about it at the moment, but you can know either who to avoid or who to ambush in the future.
Because it's an option that most people use infrequently, and NO ONE wants to use accidentally, it's recommended that you go into Options (ctl + o) -> Key Bindings and rebind that to something else - maybe {shift + x}, maybe {shift + back + esc + pagedown + numlock + F5} - whatever works best for you, that you won't hit accidentally.
