Getting Headset to Work
Have:
Windows Vista
Genius HS-04A Comfortable Stereo Headset
Can hear things in both Windows and LotRO.
Twice tried mic with Vista, both times I had to mess around with settings because it will not register them after computer startup.
Even when working in Vista, the mic does not register on the Mic Test in LotRO.
I have read the topic "How-to's": "Voice Chat" - "Improving Video Hitching, Glitching.." but it seems some instructions are for XP.
What am I not doing? Thanks.Glicyn, Man CPT; Drigrin, Hobbit BUR; Heli, Dwarf MIN; Eliyvan, Elf LM- Imladris

Well it seems to be working now though there is a delay of a second or few.

What does it mean when you have voice active but the usual green icon is red?

The icon turns red when you are "broadcasting". If you're using voice recognition then you
probably have the sensitivity turned up too much. Turn it down until the icon is green most
of the time, but not so far that the start of what you're saying gets cut off. You can test
it by checking the "Mic Test" box in the audio panel.

Funny, I had to turn down a setting all the way to 0 to get the icon to go green.
