The Great Cluck Chicken Racing Returns 10th July 2012 at 7pm UK or 2pm Server time!
On Tuesday 10th July 2012 I'll be hosting a Server-Wide Event ' Chicken Racing ' using the session play system.
Players need to have completed the 'Basic' Clickenplay quests to enable to them to travel large areas across Eriador this means you must be on 'Flying the Coop with all areas as options to start the quest!.
To start your journey to being a chicken head to the Sandson farm along the road north out of Michel Delving that runs right past the W in Waymeet on the map. You will know the farm when you see it as it has a ton of chickens and two little Hobbit farmers. Once at the farm speak with Wald Sandson. It seems young Wald has mistakenly taken a basket of his dads prized chicken eggs and now wants to return them before dear old dad finds out. The problem is that young Wald can’t remember which egg goes where and he needs you to figure it out
The Goal of the Race is simple. From Sandson's farm your goal is to Reach Galtrav in Dunland and race through the gates and the first chicken to reach the stablemaster wins! = VICTORY!. So what bad things are there? well its REACHING IT! if you die your OUT! and trust me from the many ones we've done you start off with 30 and only 5 make it. Its something different, something funny and well we could all use a break from the Normal instance grind or raids!. Chickens MAY help each other but spectators MAY NOT i.e killing mobs.
Finally, I know some have expressed about the LAG. I'm going to do a few tests. Generally when we've done it with a lot the lag isnt too bad since its rendering chickens not full toons. Hopefully we will see 50+ attending so that will be good to see!
Ref's for the day will be
Honvik
TBC
We want to ensure people are correctly identified as the winner, screenshots will be taken and all 4 people will verify who won.
The Prize fund will include:
Greater Scrolls of Delving
Greater Scrolls of Empowement
Cash prizes in gold
3x Turbine Point Codes 500 each
1x Perlino Steed
Prizes will be distrubuted as follows
1st Place 1x 500 Turbine Point Code + Steed + Greater Scroll of Delving or Empowerment x2 + 10g
2nd Place 1 x 500 Turbine Point Code + Greater Scroll of Delving or Empowerment x 1
3rd Place 1 x 500 Turbine Point Code + 5g
Please could you sign up at the forum thread: here. It isn't a requirement but good to see numbers.
Sounds great! I've planned to attend tomorrow with two friends
Will there be enough session play spots, though? When we prepared in the weekend, I saw something about 20 slots left for the chicken play. Maybe it won't be a problem, though. I hope not, at least!
Good (c)luck to everyone

I think it's just Snowbourn, unfortunately! Quickly, make a new character on our server and come join us :P

There is 20 slots per 'quest' so technically 100 people can take part. Each Quest allows the chickenplayer a certain amount of time to reach their goal. It took me just over an hour to reach there (after 4 attempts).
This is currently only on Snowbourn. If it is popular I may roll it out to other servers (will involve me leveling of course there)
Great race! Although I was in the layer without Honvik, and thus got a bad start without the start signal, I managed to fight my way back :P I was behind Bunnydoki in the Bonevales, sometimes briefly surpassing him (her?) too with my Fowl Fleetness before his/her was off cooldown, but then I tried a daring path when I came to the end of it - cutting through to the North gate of Galtrev - and was killed by a Wight :'( damn! Seems I had a chance of coming in 4th if I hadn't tried that stunt... Oh, well, I won't make the same mistake the next time we have a chicken run at least I hope we'll have another one! Maybe to Angmar? That place is wicked... :P
Thanks to everyone that participated and not least to Honvik for setting it up

You did a good job, too! I was ~Caedmun and I believe you were in the lead through the Lone-lands? Then I lost track of you in Eregion, though, when I chose a different path from the rest
I was taken out in south eregion by an orc But the race itself, the chicken chat OOC, and seeing the stampede of chickens go across the shire and through bree, was definitely worth it
Thanks very much to Honvik to running it. I'm hopeful another chicken run might be planned for the future.
Awesome race guys! I had a lot of fun since a while in LOTRO, first time I participated in such an event and I always wanted too. Thanks to Honvik and his little helpers it was great fun and everyone else ofcourse thanks for coming and making it such a fun event. I will post some screenshots for those who weren't (and were) there. I even went to Isengard(!), check it out:

All the above took place in the additional draw to win a cloth map and Weezl has won this
Thanks to all who attended. We actually had several raids over layers and I know we only had ONE session slot left for use thats a huge turn out. Just for info on this event I didnt get any assistance except for the wonderful codes Turbine supplied!

Thanks. I did a good move with Shaboo behind me in the Lone Lands, but in the Trollshaws I had to turn around because I thought I was entering a dead end. I was trying to recover through Eregion, taking risks as before, but then... SLASH! an orc hiding behind a rock. I should had see it coming
Well. Thx to the organizers. When is the next one?
