    undamged cave troll head drops

    hey guys im in thundergrot right now and i have already killed 8 trolls and still no troll head drop for decoration. What has been the drop rate for you guys? Im wondering if I need to kill over 100. thanks and let me no how many you killed before the undamaged cave troll head dropped

    Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the drop rate is quite low I suspect. This from seeing how few of them have turned up in either form at the AH over the past 4 years. Only some of the trolls in the Trollshaws drop them from what my son just told me, the ones that have a head that looks like the head of the trophy once mounted.

    Do your entire Trollshaws troll deed however, and I am sure you will get at least several. At this point, the drop itself is bind on acquire, but I believe the final trophy is fully tradeable or postable at the AH. So keep checking there as well.

    My son says that the trolls in that cave do NOT drop the trophy, and he has fought a LOT of trolls in the Trollshaws.

    EDIT - From reading the posts after this, he was wrong on that I see. He has gotten the trophy on the trollshaws though, as I remember him getting one and where he was deeding at the time.

    ok thanka, and on LOTRO life it says to go to goblin town in thundergot to get the drop. I have seen them on the AH ofr 10g aswell. so are you suggesting I look in rivendell

    Thundergrot is the only place that trophy drops. The drop rate isn't very high, but with a little tenacity and time you can get an undamaged troll head from one of the Drummers there.

    I had to kill at least a 100 to get mine. This was a few years ago. I also help a Kin get one a week later. We killed at least 200+.

    Last year I went to Goblin Town to show a new Kin member around. Went to TG to try our luck and it dropped off the first one.

    This past weekend we took another new member GT to see the sights. It dropped off the fourth. Go figure....

    I'm still looking for the Mammoth trophy. I've killed HUNDREDS! :'(

    I can confirm that they do still drop in Thundergrot. I went there last month to farm two trophies for the kin house. It took a lot longer than I remember it taking in SoM when I last farmed them, but I think it's the luck of the draw. I'd say I killed about 200 to get both this time. Was ok though as the killing goes fast at level 75 and they count towered the mm Valour deed.

    Go kill the Trolls in Goblin-Town. So far each character doing the Quest to kill some trolls there (is it 8 Trolls? 10? 12? Don't remember.) got a trophy before finishing it.

    i am a lvl 61 lore master with over 5k morale. I can take out the trolls easily but when theres like 2 trolls plus an add i wont attack them. I killed about 20 then left.

    Where are you farming? I've had luck in the mammoth grave yard in forechel.

    As far as I know, the graveyard by Zig-a-zig-ah is the only place it drops. I admit I have been desperate enough to try the Misty Mountains a few times, but I think it only drops on Forechel.

    About a year ago I went hunting for both the cave-troll head and the mammoth tusk trophy. It took hundreds of killed mammoths and only a few trolls in Goblin-town, but I got both. They drop, drop rate is low, if you want them, keep at it and good luck.

    Somehow, I overlooked this trophy...so I just ran out to Forochel to see if I could get it...

    I killed all guys in the three herds in the graveyard (near the mines), then started over. The skull dropped on the last guy in the middle group during the second round.

    To the best of my knowledge, there is no Boar trophy.

    The Warg Trophy only drops in Evendim.

    Hmm, no boar huh? I thought there was because inside the taxidermy there is a mounted boar. As soon as i saw it i hoped i would find one someday.

    I've been wanting that for a while myself.

    There are a large number of wall trophies and such scattered around ME that are not available as housing items.

    Some of note are:

    1) Hunter's Lodge in Archet. There is a Sycle Fly and a few other interesting ones on the wall if I remember correctly.

    2) Carn Dum. Inside there is a Wall with several LARGE and impressive bear heads. I would LOVE to have one of these.

    3) The Dwarf Hold on the back side of the MM. (can't remember the name) There is a Drake head trophy that is AWESOME.

    I would also like to see the cloak hangers w/cloaks as an item.
