A Brief History
BR was founded in Oct. 2010 by Skytzogloin. After much learning, time, and effort, we have morphed into the end-game team we are today. Currently lead by Aellor, we are one of the top raiding kins on the server and have a number of server firsts that we are very proud of.
What We Do
Although we are an end-game raiding kin, we do participate in the Moors, festivals, smaller 3-man and 6-man instances, among other things.
Recruitment
Balrog Riders are currently recruiting lvl 75 toons (with a few exceptions). Anybody who is willing to learn, grow, and take constructive feedback seriously is welcome to join. We are looking for all classes. Are number one rule is respect: respect each other and everyone else on the server.
Recruitment is done in-game, so please send a tell or an in-game message to either myself (Aellor) or any of the officers. Please check out our website: http://balrogriders.guildportal.com for any further information.
We are presently looking for well geared classes interested in raiding at 8PM server time to round out our raid group. Specifically a Lore Master and Healer but any are welcome to contact me here or in game usually on Brycht or Broacht.
There was a discussion in glff the other day about the difficulty of getting into a raiding kin and the near-impossibility of exploring all the end game content without doing so. Just a heads up that we have a number of people with a ton of raid experience who are willing to help committed Dwarrowdelfers get their toon raid-ready. We plan to get some 85 Skraids up and running soon after Rohan is released, with the goal of being fully geared up when the instance cluster launches. If you are interested in end-game content, or if you have raid experience and are interested in joining a solid group of like-minded folk, give us a shout in game.
I should mention, also, that if you are in the frustrating position of wanting to explore LOTRO raids, but not being in a raiding kin, keep in mind that raiding kins have problems of their own. It take a lot of time and effort to get your character in top condition, and then to learn a raid, and then to practice it enough to get it on farm status. A lot of people need to be really committed to get that done. Raiding kins often face new recruits who join up in order to get access to the top gear in the game, and then who leave for some other kin. It leaves all those who worked so hard to get in that position feeling exploited. So, if you face strict standards for entry into a raid kin, or if you don't get picked to go on raids right at the beginning, that's part of the reason why.
Finally, I'd like to extend an offer to run some content with any smaller kin unable to field a full raid. If you have 3 or 4 kinmates who would like to check out a raid, but who don't want to move into a different kin, we can likely get enough others together to get through it. With Rohan around the corner it might be a while before this sort of thing works out, but the offer is open. Shoot me in-game mail
I have had the opportunity to run with Balrog and it is a great kin to raid with. Excellent group of people with very well run and successful raid formats.
