Ok so i'm new to LOTRO and I just completed the Dwarf starting area for the first time. Once I got into the game the Quest markers on the minimap aren't there anymore. They are there but when the person or object I have to interact with isn't on my minimap it doesn't show to pointing to the area where they are. Im not sure if this is just how to the game is or what, I grew familiar to them in the starting area and now I don't really function without them.
I also can't tell the difference between the symbol for a new quest or the quest objective i'm working on.
No, most quests do point you in the right direction. Sometimes a quest will be to accomplish a task that doesn't have a specific area to go to. Also any quests inside an area (like Thorin's Hall) will not generally point you in the direction you should go. Only the quests outside have that feature. My guess is most of your new quests are either taking you into Thorin's Hall or are broad in nature and won't have the tracking feature for that quest.
You could post one of the names of the quests you are experiencing and that would help diagnose what may be happening.
could be possible you're closer to another quest, so the tracker is pointing to the closer quest.
or you're close enough that the pointer vanish, but your not close enough to see the NPC on the mini map.
You can bring up the world map, just to confirm you're going the right way. "M" key
Also there is the possibility that you added another quest, and the tracker only shows five, and you turned off (Not intentionally) the one you was doing.
Thank you so much I never would have figured that out on my own. Seriously, thank you I was looking for a great free MMO and I didn't want to start the search again because of something stupid like that.
