Join the Windy Acres Team and Learn Formation Riding
Formation riding, more formally known as quadrille dressage, is a competitive equestrian sport. Groups of riders perform choreographed maneuvers, usually to music. It is similar to drill team. A minimum of four horses are used, although additional pairs can be added to the team. At the highest level, teams perform intricate maneuvers in complicated shapes on the field. Matching horses and uniforms, upbeat music and clever synchronization make formation riding an incredible sight to behold.
Windy Acres Ranch is recruiting new members for a formation riding team. Positions are open for horse riders and musicians. We are hoping to schedule practices for Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. (You can choose to attend just one training session per week.) The team will meet at the Horsefields just south of the Bree Festival Grounds. If you are interested, click here to visit the Windy Acres Ranch web site. Reply to that post with your character’s name on Landroval, the list of horses in your stable, and when you are available for training. If you would like to contribute, send suggestions for the team name and uniform.

Head over to the Windy Acres Ranch web site for more information.
The main practice sessions are held on Wednesdays at 9:30pm server time (EST).
Optional practice sessions are scheduled for Saturdays at Noon server time.
The formation riding team met on Thursday to finalize their routine for the upcoming performance. Byrcha and Kiralynn played the lute while Argent unit took to the field. Wearing matching uniforms and tack, Lhinnthel, Lifebringer, Craicwyth and Caiyyd guided their dark chestnut horses through a series of maneuvers. The riders performed with amazing coordination and their horses seemed to prance effortlessly across the field.
After the successful dress rehearsal, the team retired to the ranch for a small celebration. The party started with a fireworks show in the front yard. Music, pipe-weed and ale were enjoyed by all. Several of the riders showed off their dancing skills. Lifebringer received a Perlino steed. Thanks to generous donations, several team members improved their reputation with various factions.
Join us tonight at 9:30pm server time in the sports field at the Horsefields, near the festival grounds north of Bree.
