listen people after downloading the game i started installing it and ALL of the .dat files are not WORKING (corrupted) so if anyone knows what to do i would apriciate it ALOT.
Sounds like something along the data path has chewed them up. More likely to be at the receiving, than the sending, end, as the problem you are reporting isn't common. Simplify and isolate. Start by shutting down anything that you dont need active, before the download. If that doesn't get rid of the culprit, try using a different pc. If that doesn't help, try using a different route. Get the picture?
Likely candidates for causing file corruption are anti-virus software (Kaspersky, for example), firewall, router, net-filtering software (e.g. Net Nanny), etc. Anything that modifies the data packet by adding an approval stamp to it is corrupting the file.

Go to support.turbine.com and look at the topics under technical support. There are a couple of the .dat files that could be missing from your install - but not ALL! That's why they have the page with 201 errors in the install/update bit of the tech support faqs. Check the list on that page against what's downloaded to your PC and go from there.
If you are still confused and panicking, ring Turbine. If, like me, you are in Europe - use SKYPE to save yourself some money ringing the US.
