Hi there,
Whenever I fully quit the game, the client crashes along with any changes I've made under the game options to revert back to their previous settings.
Can someone please suggest a fix to this (without the suggestion of completely re-installing my game).
try this
browse to (my) documetns\the lord of the rings online
find the file called userpreferences.ini, right click the file and select properties and makeure the file is not flagged as read only, if read only is ticked untick the box
if that fails and you still have the same problem delete userpreferences.ini. then from the launcher click the single down arrow at the top right and select options, select the repair tab and tick the "reset the game display settings" box then click ok and logon as normal

Hey,
I tried your second method, however the game still crashes along with any changes under the game options to revert back.. But then I tried making changes in the character selection screen and there was no crash afterwards and any changes I made under the options stayed put.. I just need to remember to make any changes in the character selection screen until Turbine comes up with a fix =).
But anyway thank you for your time In helping solve this issue. People like you allow others to enjoy Lotro to the fullest. =)
interesting, this sounds like a problem caused by not having the reqired permissions to edit the settings file but if that was the case making the changes from the char select scren would result in a crash as well. however its worth trying to run lotro as admin at least once and testing if you get the same problem
