Will we have to re-grind comms for lvl 85 audacity gear? I'm hoping for 75 to 85 barter, but I have a feeling it won't happen.

As far as I know there is no news on this, but my guess is a barter with extra comms thrown in per piece (ex. lvl 75 chest piece + 1500 comms = lvl 85 chest piece).

When they implemented it, they stated that when we hit the next expac, audacity will have to be earned all over. Each armor piece for freeps will have +2 audacity stat rather than 1. So, for freeps, yes, you will have to endure the entire wretched audacity grind again. There will be no "easy" upgrade.

This is why alot of freeps are quitting. No one wants to endure the PvE-crews again who make raids to just flip keeps for comms, then go creepside to re-flip it all back.

I suspect and hope not. That would put new players at an even worse disadvantage than they already are.

My guess is everyone has to pay the full cost of the new audacity gear. Each piece of the new set will have +2 audacity instead of +1. So you can upgrade a piece at a time (getting +1 audacity with each upgrade or +2 if you don't have the old set).

This is the whole point of the "seasonal" mechanic that audacity is supposed to add. If you take a break, you get left behind. Good for people just starting or playing continuously for a period, bad for people who were at the top of their game 6 months ago and come back to find that they need gear upgrades.

So what you're telling me is, if i freep i will have to use my pve gear with no audacity or use armor 10 levels old while creeps get to keep their current audacity?

My guess is no way. By the scheme above, with the 10000 comms you can have saved, you could get your level 85 set day 1. My guess is full price, but that set bonuses will mix and match. So if you have 6 pieces of a set @ 75 giving 1 audacity each, you can upgrade it a piece at a time to get your +2 audacity (and presumably better stats).

Freeps will have to, creeps won't.

So wait, basically, there's going to be some semblance of balance?

Hmmm, look at it this way. When they dropped the rank gate on armour to begin with, the veteran players were, in-effect, punished. There is absolutely no advantage or gain to the high rank players that have been grinding it out all these years or anything to set us aside...not to mention that any deeds that got completed with comm rewards were not back-logged and were a total loss.

The pricing scheme below is for Free People PvMP rewards. The depreciated cost represents the changes in pricing for older rewards as new rewards are released. In the data below, "Cost" is the current set, "D1" is the depreciated cost of the previous set, and "D2" is the depreciated cost of a set 2 content updates old.

If you read the dev diary, the cost of the previous set will be depreciated but... each new set will always cost the same (obviously the better one, unless if a fix appeal to you very much) cost of commendations : 7500/6000/4000

That's for the link. That's good to hear. Vet freeps and creeps will have an advantage for a few weeks (they already have rank 7 audacity which means they're taking something like 9% less damage than new players after the update) but it won't be impossible for new players to catch up if they grind a little extra.
