    Turbine/GM assistance for player events.

At one point when Codemaster ran the EU servers they offered assistance for player run events (from GM controlled monsters to beer and fireworks). It would be great if Turbine could do something similar.

/signed but it won't happen in the capacity you sound like you want. I DO think if they advertise the event, they should have someone ON HAND to make sure it goes smoothly though.

No kidding! Or, at the very least, in such cases, the GM's on duty during said event should be made aware that an officially sanctioned and heavily advertised event is taking place.

I can definitely agree to that. A smooth event is a happy event.

Re: Turbine/GM assistance for player events.

As many know by now, On Landroval we just finished a player event billed as the largest one in this MMO. It was the 4th year running. There was a problem though. We have been allowed in the past to use Lone Lands /regional channel as the event broadcast channel. This was challenged by one person who may have had his convictions and by one or two others who were trolling. It resulted in tickets being sent and a GM responding to us all not to use this channel for such. Many were stunned and many felt betrayed.

If Turbine really wants us players to get with player run events, we are going to need a new channel just for that that is region wide. I submit we have a default "event" channel. For larger events it is not possible to use /say as it has a small AOE and it is bugged itself for many. To go /RP channel makes it a technical problem with almost a one on one needed to teach so many how to access such a thing. We cant have that in the minutes leading up to a event.

If Turbine is even more than halfhearted with helping players make this game one of the best, most socially active games on the market, we are going to need help with local lockouts of forced emotes if nothing else. Finally, We need GMs that are quick and give justice to those who cant behave during such an event. Ban the players whole account for a few hours or a day. Dont just kick or warn the player and then allow them to log in an alt. Like I mentioned in another post, Its like Turbine is sabotaging their own game with present methods.

Unfortunately, you are referring to a Codemaster localization feature that went away when Codemasters shut down. Turbine never has been very interested in helping with player run events.

It is hard enough to convince the Game Masters to not interfere with a player run event. Fortunately due to low funding levels for the Game Masters Department you do not get much interference. IMHO - Turbine uses the - Ignore it. It will end in couple hours. All the tickets will go away from everyone.

You can see what happened with the Landroval event. Where a GM apparently stated. Your event is disrupting game play. Upsetting customers. Causing tickets to be generated. Find a way to hold your event that does not aggravate anyone. Does not generate any tickets.

Turbine rarely did Turbine run events like Fashion Maven or answer a Riddle for a Title. Once Warner Brothers bought Turbine. Plus Turbine went to a Lotro Store funded model with a lot of non paying (Free and Premium) players in game support is very limited.
